Did you see Haze and Waqa in the 2s today mate? LL was a 10 out of 10 compared to that pair. I personally would have picked Cini ahead of LL today but he was damn ordinary as well.
Nah didn’t see them play. Thank god. Surely we have some juniors coming through on the wing that are better than LumeLume …

Tbh right now, the only team capable of winning the comp is a Cleary-led Panthers.

If Cleary comes back and does his hammy again, which is quite common, then it’s anyone’s comp

Storm with Paps back would be the only challengers currently.

Broncos, Souths, Cowboys & us are in the next rung, can win it on our day, but inconsistent or in the case of the broncos, probably a year away.

Canberra, sharks, titans, manly are just making up numbers even if they make it

So a prop plays the same as the hooker? Joffa could play Hooker? If so I stand by my assertion, Joffa is not a hooker.

you do realise there was a time when people were capable of playing and thinking about Rugba Leeg without trying to dumb it down to 3 lanes?
Well here's the thing about middles, because scrums are pointless there's no rule saying you need two props. Sometimes one is better, with two locks. The reason is that smaller forwards are usually more mobile and work harder in defence.

Like Hodgson?

Ok.....for the yooung'uns and the Parra fans, let me be a little clearer. IMO Joffa is not a battering ram prop, he doesnt make enough metres or have enough impact. He is better off playing like an old school lock, some ball playing, free to run at wider gaps, take hard runs when needed and basically tackle his arse off. No problem with him playing in the middle third of the ground, but he is not a battering ram, metre gaining prop....nor a hooker.
We don't use him as a battering ram, we use him for his defensive work rate. Here's the comparative output for our middles (Hopgood and Davey aren't included here because they spent part of the game at other positions):

Paulo530.300.380.8
Ogden280.360.50.71
Makatoa350.230.60.38

I agree.

It might seem like sour grapes - saying this off the back of a big defeat -, but I've always hated how teams can be decimated come Origin time, and still be expected to play club games.

We only had 3 players missing, but they happened to be our fullback, our halfback, and our starting prop - three key positions.

The NRL is a joke, and has been for a long time.

Anyway - on to next week.
Yep, to be fair over the years we have played Storm etc during origin and picked up wins. This weekend, so far both Souths and us have been dudded.

TBH what shits me the most this morning is the wilful ignorance of some who write headlines ignoring the fact that some teams (we are now included) are forced to fight with one arm tied behind their backs.

The thing I have shits about is we have been decimated for a f**king dead rubber origin.

If it was a decider I could cop it.

But a dead rubber and we have been dudded 2 points from a home game we normally win

Just watched Andrew Websters presser.
Highly impressive. Warriors have a real goodun there.
Eels definitely not at their best but Warriors were the best Ive seen this year. If our Eels cant go all the way Ill be cheering Websters crew can do it.

Hopefully this is a one off big loss and they can bounce back from it. It wouldnt surprise me if Gutho gets very little or no time in Origin, so he'll be fully freshed by the Titans game.

The Warriors are a much better team and are going to be a danger, but I dont think they are that good. 46-10 is really concerning the defense was woeful.

Interesting figures Pou.....its almost like there was a period of the game that Parra got pumped and did little more than defend?

Ohhhhh that makes sense. Like the smaller guys can run around more without getting tired? Thanks for explaining the Rugba leegs to me Pou.

Just watching the Sunday Footy Show. We haven’t won without Gutherson since 2017. Obviously this is a little skewed because he hardly ever misses a game these days but my word he is important to our hopes.

What a player he has been for us. The best import since Ray Price.

How good is it when a bomb goes up and Gutho is underneath it? For a lot of players you’d have your heart in your mouth but you just know that with Gutho he’s going to safely take it every time.
