Just watching the Sunday Footy Show. We haven’t won without Gutherson since 2017. Obviously this is a little skewed because he hardly ever misses a game these days but my word he is important to our hopes.

What a player he has been for us. The best import since Ray Price.
Yeah i heard that pre game yesterday and went 😲 ... then thought, hmmm he doesnt miss many

Just did a quick look. As far as i can tell he has only missed 6 games since 2017 ... the first 5 of 2018 after his ACL ... and the game against Penrith last round of 2021 where we rested everyone

End of the day we were missing the 3 players responsible for 90%+ of our attack and game management. And that’s not taking into account Gutho’s organisation of our defensively line

we can cope with 2 out, but not all 3 - and I don’t think any team in the comp could win a game with both halves and their fullback out

Im content we got analed in not scoring ... but conceding 46 was f**ked.
They do go hand in hand though. Not scoring or forcing repeat sets means more defence, as does errors and set restarts and penalties - all of which we were not great with last night.

more defence, with players out of the regular positions in our system means more misses.

Interesting figures Pou.....its almost like there was a period of the game that Parra got pumped and did little more than defend?
Must be a period like that every week!

OpponentOfahengaue tackles per minute
Cowboys0.90
Seagulls0.57
Dolphins0.65
Warriors0.76

By comparison, Paulo's highest tackles per minute this year, in any game, was 0.56 against Canberra.

I think his on field leadership is the main thing we miss. Moses too, aside from the kicking game. Look at the Storm's capitulation in the '08 grand final without their captain.

How good is it when a bomb goes up and Gutho is underneath it? For a lot of players you’d have your heart in your mouth but you just know that with Gutho he’s going to safely take it every time.
Interestingly, in the first game I ever saw him play he dropped about four bombs. It might've been this one:

Its probably too early and Ive never been a watcher of Joffa but for those better aquainted with his abilities, is what we see, what we can continue to expect?

Every club fishes where the fish are these days. The size of your backyard doesn't really matter when it's every merkin's backyard.
