They didn't dispute that he hit him in the head.
They only disputed the grading, whic I think was fair enough. I didn't think they would win but I definitely don't think it was worth a grade 2 charge compared to some other tackles that get that grading.

Was never gunna happen.

I thought the chances of him being downgraded were slim, but there was an actual chance of it happening.
The judiciary doesn't like downgrading charges. They don't do it often but it was worth a try in this case.

Sometimes I am amazed at some of their decisions though. When Billy Slater put on a shoulder charge in that Prelim Final and he was going to be suspended for the GF, but they were able to successfully argue that it wasn't a shoulder charge....despite it being a textbook example. Shit like that just makes me wonder what goes through their heads.

If it was a GF yeah sure, but not for this...you just knew that they were going to tack on an extra week for their efforts.

Anyway done now. Nothing we can do to change it.

Our season is all but over anyway after such a terrible start and now with injuries and suspensions and a terrible signing in Hodgson to really hobble us from the get go.

At least the Cowboys didn't have all that to contend with, they just had to reset and find form after the world cup.

I do think our terrible start to the year will keep us out of the Finals this season, unfortunately.
Some of those close losses will come back to haunt us, especially the opening game against Melbourne, the first game we played against Manly where we got ourselves into the lead in the seond half only to throw it away, and the loss to the Titans.

Our defence just hasn't been good enough this year. In fact it's been f**king woeful for most of the time.

Even in some wins we have had we let in 20 points against the Dolphins (after being up 42-4 at half time), 24 points against the Titans last weekend, 22 points to the Tigers... that's just not good enough.

We've had about 44 games worth of top 17 players unavailable, including Matterson's six games.

Hard to overcome things like that.
I still think we could have thought, and probably should have.

I’m wondering what that stat would be like for other teams.
