It was Gutho who put that kick in.
A very risky all or nothing play that paid off brilliantly. I think Simonsson may have been grabbed a fraction of a second before he got the ball but too close to call.

Awesome run by Matto to get the quick play-the-ball before the field goal as well.
After rewatching the game not only did Gutho put the kick in, but he’s the first one there when Bailey gets tackled looking for a quick PTB. The guys a deadset lionheart. One of our all time great players and it’s a pleasure to watch him lead this side.

Anyone know why this idiot didn’t give Luca a run? considering they were all gassed
Luca was on the bench with three other merkins, two of whom played less than 20 minutes. Any of them should have come on before Moretti in a tight game. They only need a ten minute break and they’re good to go. Moretti can get his minutes in big wins (or losses).

Amazing what one loss can do.
2 weeks ago even his most ardent detractors were preparing to extend BA. Now we almost lost because he didn’t give Moretti game time
Who said that

i wonder when they spoke about executing the play considering simonssen was so far away.

do they have hand signals? does the trainer come on and tell guth to kick to simmo then the trainer sprints to simmo to let him know it's on...
Arthur's said they practice it often at training, so they would have a hand signal or some kind of BDSM safe word or whatever

Lol, Titans were officially robbed...

NRL admits Titans should have been awarded potential match-winning penalty

Graham Annesley praised the referees last week for making a tough call in golden point, but he can’t defend them this time after they missed a clear penalty that cost the Titans dearly.

The NRL admits the Titans should have been awarded a penalty in the final few minutes of their game against the Eels which would have put them in front and within two competition points of the top eight if they’d held on for the win.

What makes it even tougher to swallow for Titans fans is that it’s the second week in a row that their team has had a game decided by an offside penalty, although the NRL says the correct call was made in Round 19 when Erin Clark jumped off the line too early which allowed the Dolphins to win in golden point.

NRL head of football elite competitions Graham Annesley praised referee Grant Atkins for making the tough call in the Dolphins game, but he couldn’t defend the officials at CommBank Stadium for not blowing the whistle.

The Titans were down 25-24 with four minutes to go when halfback Tanah Boyd had a field goal charged down by Shaun Lane.

The problem was Lane and Ryan Matterson were both offside, as was Eels skipper Clint Gutherson who stopped chasing Boyd once he was called out by referee Chris Butler.

Annesley says it was a bad miss by the officials, and said the onus was on the touch judges to tell Butler that the Eels were offside.

etc etc
The home team shouldn't get penalised in those instances. Otherwise why even play home games ffs

Plus RCG got an unexpected 10 minute breather which probably changed BA's rotation plans.

Yeah must be the hand signal then. Maybe just a look and a nod or something equally furtive

Called well in advance, probably before we even got the ball.

Titans Kicked to our right corner, Russell kick return, Sivo takes the next hitup, still well right of the posts, Gutho kicks on the second, Simonsson's so far across on the left wing that you can't even see him on the wide shot.

Any other set Simonsson's there around the ruck ready for the third tackle hit - up, instead he's maybe 30 odd meters away hanging out of position on the wing, he doesn't get there by magic, and there's no shot of him bolting across to get into that position.

They must all have missed the signal that they should not have contested the Sivo charge that was indefensible and lunacy from the start.

Of all the times to go into bat for a player and the charge he was facing, they chose an indisputable head shot?

Fu*k me we are a dumb club at times! How the hell did anyone at the club think that that was going to work out in our favour? The RCG one at least you could argue fatigue that led to clumsiness, but still a penalty was warranted, but the Sivo one is just a straight forward head hit by an aggressive tackler that had no duty of care in his actions. No excuses. Done and he gets an extra week for wasting our time and the clubs audacity in thinking that they could waltz in here and spin some sh*t and do so.

Next.

They didn't dispute that he hit him in the head.
They only disputed the grading, whic I think was fair enough. I didn't think they would win but I definitely don't think it was worth a grade 2 charge compared to some other tackles that get that grading.
