I know Moses wasn’t great last night, but gee most sides I have watched this week seem to have the same problem, all have hot / cold half backs (brooks, Cleary, Reynolds, nikorima, Taylor, hunt) - not many are able to consistently control the game each week.

Additionally there really aren’t many options available to replacing Moses. It’s no wonder halves cost a fortune, great ones are so hard to find.

Yep add to that JT has being playing busted and retiring. Cronk is retiring next year. A good 7 might cost a fortune.

Once Thurston and Cronk go who are the No 7's that better than Moses?

I'd put DCE, Maloney, Cleary, Johnson, Reynolds, Brooks and Hunt ahead of Moses but a couple of them by only the smallest margin. Thoughts?

Cronk will likely go around again next year, so in 2019 Moses is probably in the bottom 6 halfbacks of the comp. Awesome

They all have good and bad points, Maloney is poor defensively, Johnson is hot / cold, Reynolds is a poor runner, Brooks is hot/cold, Cleary is probably overrated, Hunt seems to be unable to perform consistently for a whole season.

True, but how do you think they compare to Moses? Where would you rate everyone?

Just a really rough guess between beers, I reckon for next year it’s in the following groups:

Top range
Cooper

Next
Pearce
Morgan
DCE

Next
Reynolds
Johnson
Hunt
Maloney
Widdop
Munster

Next
Norman
Moylan
Moses
Walker
Green
Cleary
Milford
Taylor
Brooks
Marshall
Seizer

Bottom
Lewis
Townsend
Nikorima
Elgey
Croft
Marshall-king
Williams
Austin

Also a lot depends on the quality of the fullback / hooker and middle forwards in the combination.

No but he was pretty much the best player in the comp when running the team last year. I think trying to hand back responsibilities to JT didn't help.

We will find out next year. Also Morgan wasn’t really that good in 2017 during the normal rounds it really wasn’t until the finals he showed some great form.

Plenty of ways to fix it. You would have to agree his effort last night was the worst ever particularly when he stopped 30cm from the touch line and refused to walk over it. Disgusting.
It would only take one referee turning the sin binning into a send off to stop this pathetic behavior from reoccurring. Ok, now that you're off, stay off. It happened with David Peachey against Parra in 2003 i think. The 74-4 game.

We will. Admittedly as the main half it's not many games but he was on fire for the last 6 or so regular season games. And he's a proven 6. Even if his playmaking goes off, he's still big, strong and fast. And he's not a hothead like Moses, so I'd put him streets ahead.

Add to that the same tackle earlier. No fluke. He is a confirmed arsehole of the highest order.

Should be 10 weeks. I remeber when jnr copped 7 fpr a dangerpus throw which was more a tackle gone wrong.
