Key difference tonight was Damien Cook running from dummy half putting the roosters on the back foot.
Or were they already on the back foot?
Something Mahoney and BA coached teams don't do nearly enough of.
Because he's slow. He's better off passing to someone more dangerous. Or better yet, get out of the way so slowpoke Gutho can hog the ball ffs
When Mahoney runs we look a much better team.
Or does he only run when we've won the middle (and Gutherson isn't pushing him out of the way)?

The point is not everyone can have a run after a quick play-the-ball. They all want to have a run, but merkins get in trouble if they overcall the blokes running the show.

So how do we fix that Poo?

Well we're talking relative strength here so not everyone can have gotten better. You've made a sweeping statement that defies logic.
25yrs ago Sth America would dominate world cups. Now Europeans teams dominate. Brazil and Agrentina aren't as scary once was.
There are far more smaller European countries who have improved. Africa and Asia has exploded.
Transfer fees of 1 or 2 mill euros would be seen as nothing but would be quite common for an English championship club to get a player from a top tier club from another country.
That money filters down. Imagine Sydney FC selling off 2 or 3 players a year at that. It is how clubs start to build.

So yes most other nations have become better and have more money involved. In the EPL a 10 mill pound transfer is seen as small. 25 would be about average. That's 50 mill Aussie dollars.

We are not collecting a piece of the pie. Just like society there is a lot of money around and every merkin wants a piece. We aren't even licking the crumbs.

Oh. So give up and take what youve got? You dont subscribe to continuous improvement?

I seen D.Brown poke his head thru atleast 4 times last week and wanting to pass which leads to a line break. He didn't have support once. Same as when Bryce plays.

We do have the ingredients there. I hope Ennis and McGregor will start to give BA some tips. Ennis commentary sounds like he understands the way Parra play isn't going to do a lot.

And you need a Hooker who probes and darts. Mahoney is excellent player but he needs to run more. If as some suggest he is to slow then you need someone off bench who can for 20 odd mins.

Exactly but its unlikely a 9 on the bench will ever happen.

Cook is a completely different player when he runs. Last night he showed he was willing to run and by doing so putting the roosters on the back foot not the other way round. Not sure if u watched the game but it was pretty obvious.
Mahoney is not slow but clearly not as fast as Cook. It's making sure he does it at the right time like when a legs tackle has been made or there is only 1 marker.
There have been ample opportunities in the last 2 games where he shouldve run but shuffled the ball out.
Anyway its game day..let's go boys.
Big character test tonight.

I reckon Dylan Brown would probably be a better hooker than 5/8. Speed to burn, excellent defender and tough..food for thought

Our support play in general has been poor, which relates to our poor defence, getting numbers into the tackle and covering from the inside. It's all effort areas and ours have been down. That's why our attack has also been bad, not because Jake Arthur was brought onto the field.
