What happened after that was insane!

I never would have pictured Lane charging the field goal down...wow!
✅ As much as Melbourne's relentless pressure caused errors (their 1%er efforts), it was our 1%ers that got us the win. It's a pity that many here don't see that. They think that our errors were caused by our shit players and shit coach.

Such a dark mindset to have when you should be enjoying a win and the fact that we are a team now that even with a growing list of injuries, we show the resilience needed to be the real deal.

What a win last night from the guys.

I was in the city yesterday watching the game then partying afterwards.

Watched a proper replay at home this morning its amazing how much you miss when your out.

The team felt under the pump as always against Melbourne but absorbed their pressure and hung on so many times in that 1st half.

I may be bias but Gutherson was incredible at the back his defensive efforts and front on contact when stopping line breaks was awesome some players on the front line could learn a thing.

Even meaneys 2nd try he made the tackle before munster put the kick in and still almost got there on the other side.

A shame about Waqa he just lost complete confidence in the 2nd half and turned into manu vautuei.

Ray stone owed us after last week and the semi final last year so i suppose i can forgive a touch.

Ashley Klein is an utter f..wit who gaves us SFA. While Bellamy is a sook a sore loser who never wants to give opposition credit whenever they lose and is always snarling when beaten.

So many fantastic efforts intermixed with some less than fantastic moments.
Edge of the seat stuff. We dont win games like that yet we did.
The Storms tactics are so obvious it beggars belief how they go unnoticed by the officials.
. NAS was bordering on psychotic the entire game.
. Headlocks in tackles.
. Moving forward or sideways when playing the ball taking our markers out of the game.
. Running at gaps created by their own players coming back onside.
That said we were our own worst enemy on so many occasions yet we scrambled magnificently.
There may well be some truth in our season start issues related to a ramp up of our condition. Junior, Reg and Ice dont look as fit as last season. Neither does Rheed. One thing that has been much improved over seasons past has been our condition so it may well be a plan to build into the season. Its a risk but time will tell.
From a players perspective how good was Gutho? Magnificent game. Dyl is my favourite player and as good as he was he only gets my 2 points tonight. I cant split my 1 point between a few fantastic efforts tonight. Lane, Nrown, Oppy and Mitch.
And then theres Mr Stone, our super sub. His final 15 minutes defy explanation.
Waqa running onto Dyls magic pass and smashing Joe Dirt. Poetry.
I do again question the use and composition of our bench though. Our fatigue demanded we use Emu yet he failed to get a run. Too much is asked of Reg and Jnr. Oregon may be another short on condition. Rheed needs support desperately. His game tonight really fell off a cliff.
A very excited fan here. Im not sure how all that translates into our season but Im living in the moment and basking in the glory.
Cant wait for my Sterlos/Commbank experience this Sunday.
Go The Mighty Eels.

Some great stats out of last night.

Melbourne last 7 losses since midway through 2020 parra have caused 4 of them.

Melbourne still haven't beaten Parramatta without Cameron smith since 2006.

Beaten them at 3 different grounds in 12 months Parramatta, Brisbane which is storms 2nd home and Melbourne.

For the first time since Bellamy took over Parra arent intimidated from Melbourne just need to beat them in a final to officially get the 0-7 finals record off our back but i am more confident then ever if we face them in September/October we can knock them off.

Hopefully we can finish above them so we can have a crack at them home instead of traveling.

But this team has belief against Melbourne that probably only penrith can match.

Its why that semi loss last year still hurts because i reckon we would have beat Melbourne last year in the preliminary final if we had got there.

That’s genuinely one of the ugliest tackles I’ve seen for a while. Prone attacker, swinging arm, nothing but intent to strike the head. And Klein didn’t even notice it. It’s just not good enough.

A ref might not see it for many reasons, but where was the bunker? Was there a break in transmission at that instance? A black out? $2m spent to miss the bleeding obvious, but agonise and watch over and over and over again if a micro-nail touches a ball for a knock on deflection. Who are these people that the NRL hires as experts and professionals? Even my 93 year old, going blind mother in law could do a better job at times.

Really ordinary. He should have been sent off, just like that bone head for the Knights was in the game before. Instant dismissal was more then warranted. Why do the Storm seem to more times then not get away with their dirty and foul play?

He put him on report so why didn't they go back and give a penalty like they always do.

Because makatoa wasnt a coward and didnt lay down we didn't get a penalty its a joke.

They got a head high straight afterwards which made it worse

Good win. We need to chalk up a fee more cause our draw gets tougher.
Injuries starting to pile up

Shaun Lane>Rudy Gobert. How did he stop that field goal? We’ve been crying out for Dylan Brown to take on more responsibility and play like a half and he showcased what playmaking skills he’s capable of. That was his best game as a half in years.
It would have to be one of the most complete games I’ve seen from him. He was brilliant yesterday. There really should be no justification for moving him from the halves unless he is injured.
