It's because our pathways investment fell away after the club went into administration and didn't recover until after Covid. We've only been strong in that area since 2023. Before that our pathways were good until 2017. But for five years we only brought through local kids. We relied on the likes of Rouse Hill because we had no external recruitment.
If we lost him due to salary cap pressure, it wouldn't make sense to replace him with a more expensive player.

No, it's not actually. Joey Grima mentioned in an interview with TCT that it was the first time he could remember that one of our pathways teams consisted entirely of kids from the local comp. He sounded like he was trying to talk up the local comp, but it was pretty obvious our scouting/recruitment budget had fallen off a cliff. It was very concerning, and our pathways results during that time have borne it out.

Is there such thing as an objective assessment? Are facts ever raised that weren't selected first? You've gone to all this effort to criticise but the things you claim to have a problem with aren't something a healthy person would be critical about. Disagreements are subjective by nature. Facts in support of a position must be selected. The alternative is random choice.
