Whilst he isn’t shooting the lights out, I think Walker is needed to fix either our halves, centres or utility spot before going into the second row
I don’t expect him to be a world beater but have a run. I’d rather we have somebody who is atleast going to run hard and generate a quick play the ball. We can’t carry him at the moment and atleast all the other rookies are doing something.

Don’t even get me started on our so called first graders like Dylan Brown and Shaun Lane. Dylan is very lucky we literally have no one to replace him or he would be gone.

Please let me know your opinion on my thoughts about my team observations. Listed in today’s jersey numbers

1. Just a rookie. Has some flare but ideally needs a break. Major reshuffle needed to make that happen. It won’t happen and it will to be to his and our detriment. Servicable as the weakest link in a good spine.
2. A below average first grader. Could have a ten year career at average clubs but won’t see much “success”.
3. Potentially an above average first grade level player given the right circumstances. Not a natural footballer. Needs space with the ball but needs to be created by others. One on one defence good enough but needs support around him.
4. Probably a better winger than centre but hasn’t been at a club that has allowed him to prove any different. Effort and energy player. Unfortunately, that is a week to week proposition. Potential superstar.
5. Good finisher but if there is no start then there is no finish. Offers zero in our own half.
6. A runner and a temperamental one at that. Broken play specialist but if there is no broken play? A nuffie without a dominant 7.
7. Above average for a backup 7. We don’t want him named every week but can fill a hole with a decent 6. (See above)
10. Massive unit. Stops before the line. Built like Tarzan. Plays like Jane. No more a captain or a leader than I am.
9. Below average first grade. Just filling a hole.
16. Limited ability but shows more ticker than most. More than useful in a better side than ours.
11. Standard first grader. Exists but doesn’t excel. You’d hope he is cheap. Hole filler.
12. Starting for us will only hurt his development. Not a guy that would earn a starting spot elsewhere. Has bench potential it’s but not here, for his sake or ours.
13. Very good player if looking for a worker bee in his position. Depends on the makeup of the team. 2025 Eels is not it.
14. I like the kid. Enthusiasm is half the battle and he has it. Not a playmaker but again, with the right 7 and 6 will be well above average. Others will determine his career.
17. Too early to tell. Playing in a shit team either helps or hinders him.
18. A cheaper Paulo. If he uses his size rather than his brain he will have a career.
19. A potential handy first grader. If I’m his manager I’m getting him away from us.

All said and done… we stink and will do for some time.

So surely walker and Ryley Smith are not both named on the bench against dragons...
So Smith starts...plays 30 and replaced by Walker for 10.
Start of 2nd half Smith starts and walker plays roving role....

Went to 4 pines park today on the hill.

When your getting pity from Manly fans you know things are bad.

Dylan Brown got heckled with abuse all game by the Manly fans and the sad part is i actually loved it.

I wonder what Jason Ryles is thinking right now about taking this job on. Did he underestimate the mess were truly in.

We are a hapless rabble that would struggle to win a ron massey cup game right now.

No one is on the same page in attack. Everything is in slow motion it's like getting a death by thousand cuts.

Shaun lane has his hands on his hips every attacking set for the first 3 tackles every attacking set. So is it fitness or lack of interest.

Will Penisini has disintegrated into the same rabble of a player that Waqa Blake ended up in.

Sean Russell isn't a first grader.

Name me one positive thing that has came out of Arthur's connection to the Rouse Hill Rhinos.

The 4 players from that Junior side he coached in that team are nothing more then reserve graders. Yet we gave them top 30 contracts from the age of 18-19.

Manly were in cruise control our defence was still too passive throughout the game.

I am lost where we go from here. Moses will help but honestly we are so far off the pace we look as bad as any wooden spoon team i have seen in 25 years.

320 mins we have played this year and we haven't led at any point its almost getting close to record breaking stat. The longest period a team has gone into a season and not led at any point.

And I reckon a Manly player had a good rip at the footy.

I was critical of KK early but I can see why they like him. Needs a rocket up him but, gonna play 80 we need more involvement out of yah
💯 rip but they know his weakness and that's a loose carry

This season is a building block for Ryles in preparation for

Rough road ahead , in the short term at least
With the funds we have apparently to spend coupled with the late start due to the PO in Browns contract, there doesn’t seem to be many if any quality players available for 2026 to cash in with.

Our recruiting is more in the passive state than most other clubs, looking at the past 5/6 years, so we need a Penrith style injection from our own juniors to start anything near a revival.

I would assume the same Smith for 30 Walker players hooker for 15 then When Smith comes back on Walker plays lock.

Walker comes on after 30 for Hopgood after 50 Smith goes off Hopgood on Walker to hooker for 10-15 Smith back on for last 15 or so.

Hopefully Ryles is in discussion with all the player managers on who they have available or who wants an early release to get a starting spot.
