Kautogo getting caught out.

Probably a bit unfair on Kautago there. What is he meant to do. All the middle is pretty much to the right of the goal post. If he isn't there, there is a massive hole for Brooks to run through.

Hawkins stuffed up there with a missed tackle. Actually looking at it, we pushed up pretty hard on the edge, stopping them doing the usual pass to winger for try. Pitty Hawkins missed

Agree Hopgood and Paulo could have slid faster though he still left a gaping hole between Hawkins and himself getting caught next to hopgood.

Yeah but he had no option. He pushed out to help Hawkins, we are whinging for him leaving the hole

He didnt push out though.. He was slow in getting across as he fell for the decoy. Hopgood was there for the decoy.

He only needed to be 2 steps across and then Hawkins wouldnt have had to come back in..

Our "try" we actually did well through ball playing at the line...

That was a good play, my initial reaction was why Paulo got it on the last tackle, but it confused the Manly defence and was able to pop a good ball to Offa. Many would disagree it wasnt a try but the referee had a good view of it being scored. What annoys me is that certain angles are only shown to make it look bad, then when the try is confirmed we would be shown an angle that looks like a try.

Samrani made big metres again yesterday. Hard to fit into side in the backs.

Is he a genuine option for second row? He has the size and played there before.

Not sure. Worth a go.

I think we need some size out there regardless of what number he has on his back, when I looked at Manlys back line yesterday (including back rowers) with the Turbos, Garrick and Saab, we looked like f**king midgets with blokes like Penisini out there, they were too big too strong and too fast

Saab got rid of Brown and Iongi for his try with very little effort

Fairly Sure Will has no confidence in Brown..

What the heck is he doing...

I think he’s being exposed on 2 fronts.
You can see he’s a right arm tackler which means on the left he’s naturally turning in to prepare for tackle. If he can’t fix this, I’d encourage him to look elsewhere for a right centre position (or if Lomax plays like yesterday then Will can move back to right).

Secondly I agree I don’t think he trust Brown because JAC is the only one talking on that side. Looking at the second photo, Brown should be making ground to cover Garrick while JAC pushes Saab to sideline but the way it unfolds at best Brown has overestimated his speed/underestimated Saab’s or probably more likely everyone has left JAC to pull off a miracle

Matto had a ball playing role yesterday, after getting moved to middle, so it didn't look like he wasnt doing much if you were comparing him to a "traditional" middle.

But he did that role very good. He had 15 passes (22 receipts) yesterday (the most of any of our nsw cup forward this year).

He defended at 94% with 29 tackles. And made 82 m, which is solid but not spectacular, but needs to considered jointly with his ball playing role. He was quite busy.

He is exactly what our side needs now, we don't really have any middles that can create space with their passing game.

He's very much a broke man's Yeo
