We can wank on about the bench and interchanges, but we won because we had more resilience and defensive intensity.

I think the use of the interchange probably contributes to that though.

I concur. Outside of Hodgson (who we seem to have found a solution in Hands) he is really our only genuine weakness from this side.

Can Doorey also play in the middle because when Lane comes back, I think Bryce deserves to keep his spot and then it’s either Maka or Doorey who drops out of the 17. We really need another middle on the bench so hopefully he can as he provides more intensity than Maka. Either way our depth suddenly looks a bit better as Murchie and Jirah are reserve graders.

Can’t say I agree. We were up for that game in a way that we haven’t been all year.

First game in like forever Waqa uses his head and earns us the penalty to put us in position to win and you want him dropped now?

Bushy was forced to make the interchanges he did with the hopgood hia. That was a blessing, or you could bet your left testicle that he would have cost us the game with his bench use.

I thought we where better for first 30 mins. And the middle 20 of 2nd half is where we won it.
They attack with defense. We don't. Problem for them now is there attack is blunt. No Api or Kikau. There just isn't x fact anymore.
They where missing Martin but we had Lane out. Bryce however is playing excellent. Id rather keep him and put Mato on bench.

Interesting to see if we sign anyone and if a few kids come in and improve the side like Dunster and Russel. Simmonson is a weakness. Waqa was ok tonight but is dicey.

That's true too, but if Hodgson and Hopgood end up playing 80, I suspect we get run down in the end.

Yup. Bryce has been good since he controlled his offloads.
I think doorey should go ok in the middle. He runs hard and accelerates

It's ba's bench rotation. Some of the players can't play 80 and need to be replaced after 25 to 30

??? That doesn’t fly. In our first 3 games he was definitely in our top 2 available backrowers which meant he was going to play longer minutes. The alternative was Momoisea getting more minutes. Now Matterson is back, he isn’t (arguable) in top 2 which means he can play less minutes. Nothing really to do with rotations

I’d be going Hands - Hodgson - Hands or Hodgson for 25 and then Hands for the remainder.

But its chewing up 3 interchanges to do that .... will need to scam a few HIAs
