we always seem defensively more stable with russell at left centre, might be in the tom opacic mold
He's nothing special but solid in all areas. That makes him suitable at centre and wing, but one of the benefits for Lomax at wing is that he doesn't have to add 20 tackles to his 20 runs, on top of the 80 minutes of off the ball stuff edge players need to do.

riley was 21 playing flegg

of course pou thought he was shit....
NRL and reserve grade is full of 21 year olds. If they're in Flegg, they're probably garbage. Don't start crowing just because one of them makes it to first grade.

Don't forget Casey Spadger, she had a blinder for them.

God, she's so horrible.

I recall a review where she didn't call our player by their name - she said something like, "The Dragons player knocks the ball into the Parramatta player."

So unprofessional.

Ryles indicated in the post game presser that the backline we ran out with yesterday is what they have decided “works best for our club and game” and I agree.

actually think Russell looked as good as he has an comfortable at centre, and Penisini looked back in his groove on his preferred side. Glad to see Ryles and the coaching team are willing to put their hands up and change the plan if it’s not working how they thought it would.

Someone on here during that storm debacle said give it a month and Lomax will be moved back to the wing.

Looks like he was pretty spot on.

Lomax was probably the least of the concern in the way we were running out as he was roving, it was mainly that the changes were making Penisini and Russell look like cup players, and poor ones at that.

Unfortunately for Ryles, most people on here could have told him that In the lead up to rnd 1

Will be interesting to see how the dragons go long term. Were in a similar rebuild position to us with neither team any threat to the premiership but have approached it completely differently by going for older experienced players. Gutho, Val, cook, Klemmer (LOL) might offer them some quality now but later in their contracts they’ll struggle. In a year or two they’ll be trying to replace these guys whereas we’ll hopefully have smith, Iongi etc with some experience under their belts and hopefully locked up long term.
They must have a shit HoF and R&R team.
