That’s all well and good but the merkin already shifted Drown to accommodate Jake in round 1 when we had more outside back options we could have used on the bench (if that’s what his concern was).

Cause there was an injury, he didn’t in round 2 when injury free

While it wouldn’t be my preference, it’s not unexpected when you have the following 6 backs out from your top 30:

- sivo
- blake
- Dunster
- russell
- opacic
- the Fijian
and Marata

that’s some injury crisis…..it’s not like BA hasn’t tried several other options before making this move…

Ummm because little Jakey was injured, he played one game back and was straight back in the 17. It happened in the pre season trial and the handbrake was picked in the first 2 rounds. If he didn’t go down with injury he’s probably been in the team every game so far this season.

From what I have seen Yates and Hands offer more as a 14 then JA.

I also would prefer to have given Greig or Rodwell a spot and put Matterson into centre

Jake looked a mile off the pace last week and little wonder given recent surgery. The kid will do his best. I just hope he hasnt handed him the kicking responsibilities today. Jake 7 and Mitch 6 is the usual form.

I agree that none of the NSW cup guys should be called into backline. Laizou isn't up to it and neither are the other guys.

Still I feel Matterson would be ok at centre and it doesn't effect the halves.
Anyhows I hope Jake has a great game and wish the kid well.....

BA just interviewed. Said that they literally have no outside backs available in the 30. Dylan has trained there all week and he has a licence to roam. He has instructed Jake to give Dylan early clean ball.

I don’t think it’s worth getting hysterical about it, it’s the safest move to shut down I assume Bradman Best or Gagai. Even still that will be a job.

They literally have no other outside back they are saying.

We could have used Matterson there - he's played plenty of First Grade at centre.

I understand Brad's thinking, but moving a half is always a weird move...
