Well you either back down or double down and the NRL know the public hates the bunker.

Only someone who has never laced on a boot or even less, watched the game with a modicum of understanding would think Simmonson’s action was a penalty.

On a side note does anyone have our win/loss record under Peter Gough? I’m going on nothing but a gut feel but I don’t think it would be too healthy.

I would have thought the same, but listening to triple m this morning and Wade Graham and Hindy both basically said they agreed with the call, said it happens all the time, and given the position it should have been a penalty try or sin bin minimum.

So there is 630 of first grade games including one of our greats agreeing with the bunker decision.
I expect Graham to side with them given he’s a sharks man, but totally disappointed Hindy wouldn’t go into bat for our team.

Hindy actually said aside from the bag high tackle calls the refereeing was good

Brent Read argued that there's nothing wrong with the bunker technology as they get more decisions right than they get wrong, which is true. He quoted "maybe 95% correct decisions compared to maybe 80% if just left to the refs, with no bunker."
Hindy replies "So, 5% difference then?"

It was a contest for the ball. At no point would Bailey have thought about tackling him in the air. Absolutely baffling call. Up there with the most ridiculous I’ve seen. Not THE worst, but it’s up there. You’ve only got to see the absolute derision online to know it’s the wrong call.

The rule says you can't tackle someone in the air so technically it's a penalty.

For me I have 2 issues why did they change the rule where you can tackle the attacking player in the air and why was that play under the microscope but the 3 tries that clearly were not.
