From the front page of the LU site......

Warriors coach Tony Kemp has made a number of changes for Sunday's NRL clash with the North Queensland Cowboys.......

blah blah blah blah all the way down to .......

.........Meanwhile, hooker Paul Dezolt has been granted an early release from his short term contract and Danny Sullivan has retired.
***********************************************************

Poor ol' Danny boy....such a shame. Good luck in your retirement. I'm sorry you did not get that chance to realise your full potential.

Bit like Paul Mares and also Adam Ritson.

All three guys had SO much talent.
Sad really.

Such a shame, cause Sullivan had a good future ahead of him, i thought he had potential when he was playing at Parramatta.

yet another player we've been bagged for letting go. No offense to the young bloke, because he had plenty of promise and i feel sorry for his career ending so prematurely, but perhaps the Eels aren't so stupid after all...

A bit like Dave Woods too, Suity. That guy shoulda played for Australia, he was that damned good, but injuries just killed him.

Big fan of David Woods and so was my father,It was such a shame the guy was a bloody champion,Everytime the poor bugger would come back and play the awesome football that every parramatta fan knew he could,he would breakdown with some sort of injury

Very sad, he really was going to be very good.

From a purely selfish point of view, I remember reading at the time that Parramatta was willing to let Jason Cayless go because they were confident Danny Sullivan was a better prospect.

Ahhh, hindsight...

Jess, is Sean going to play in England? There are heaps of teams over here - Superleague plus three national divisions, and then something called the conference. I'm sure he'd get a run if he brought his boots with him!

Regarding Danny, it was a surprise when he was returning to league with the Warriors, as I'd thought he was due to be out for longer? I guess it wasn't meant to be, poor bugger.

Another article made no mention of him calling it quits. Quite a shame if true.

"Another Australian casualty cut from the playing roster is second rower Danny Sullivan.

The former Junior Kangaroo joined the Warriors in November after missing the 2003 season with knee trouble and was culled mid-contract after failing to recover.

He played one game from the bench in two seasons."

That is a shock and a shame about Danny. He was hailed as an Australian player of the future, it's dissapointing to see he'll no longer see that potential. I think we say to say the modern day game puts too much pressure on younger players these days.

I read that article too.

That article states that Sullivan was cut from the Warriors roster. In other words, he WAS FORCED to retire.

If given enough time to recover from injuries and given a good, strong, long-term future with a good long-term training and rehabilitation program, he'd be back to his best anf very fit.

I wonder if we could coax him out of retirement ... ?
