FMD, we need to buy a premier prop and a solid backrower for next season (or even mid season buys).

Who is there out in market either wanting to move or off contract in 2014?

In addition, who could we release or what strategies could we use to work this in our salary cap.

I'm no expert on this so I'm very interested for others opinions!

We lost Bukayo (?) from Cronulla- the Warriors got him. He was a pretty good up and comer backrow. Who knows who would even want to come to the club art the moment.

We need to be able to show a strategy and a plan for getting there. I'm not sure we are at that stage yet. When the club declares its hand and releases x,y,z players then we will know the way forward they see.

For me, I see no place for Moltzen, Blair, Tuqiri, Utai, Reddy, Iosefa etc. I'm not sure about Galloway either- he is injured a hell of a lot. When he is on the field he is good but keeping him on the field is the problem. Anasta I'd keep, provided he is allowed to tactically kick as a counterpoint to Benji. I'm not sure on Lawrence also- his form would want to improve real quick. Fulton has to be questioned too in as much as the recent contract extension to 2016. I'm not sure that was wise nor his longevity assured.

I'd also like to see who in the State Cup side/s should be given an opportunity to impress. I'm all for new blood coming in but I'd also like some of it to be homegrown too. Simona deserves break as much as Korobete has got his. I'd love to get Politini back from Cronulla as backup for Farah rather than Iosefa. A stupid decision to let him go and retain Iosefa.

I've already forseen that we will end up with Justin Poore next season. I read that he's looking to come home from the ESL. It would fit our recruitment policy of washed up blokes perfectly.

Tom Symonds at Manly is off contract

He would be a worthy investment.

We also really need like a Tahmoa or Graheme like prop. Someone like this to partner Galloway (next year) and let Woods come of the bench 15 mins into each half would be absolutely devastating.

Just like Parra are finding, you take some of these fringe F/graders away from a very strong club and put them in a weak club and they go belly up.Rose,Symond are playing in a very strong pack, not sure they would go any better than the cattle we have. Their is only one way to go,flick the deadwood and under achieving salary cap eaters and get some elite, competitive, durable players. If they are not available dont waste your money and save it till they do become available

Former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldog Jarrad Hickey is returning to Australia after being pushed out of the London Broncos following a miscalculation with the club’s overseas quota.
As Hickey packs his bags for the long flight home, his manager has already made approaches to the Penrith Panthers and Canberra Raiders for an immediate start.
Wests Tigers might’ve also been an option had they not picked up Ray Cashmere a fortnight ago.
We’ve heard Cashmere’s fitness and attitude has impressed Tigers officials to the extent where they’re giving serious thought to offering him a one-year extension.

Most clubs stuck in quick sand act swiftly, take the dragons, facing a very average 2013 they have hit the market place to try and rectify their short comings, take Parra, struggling to climb the table they are sourcing players from ESL and locally and Penrith, have systems in place and are aggressive in the market place to attract good players.

Okay the players the above clubs have signed and are trying to sign might not all work out, but these clubs are at least trying to lift their playing stocks. While we sit back and pray some players may regain the form that departed them half a decade ago or ten junior champions will emerge from the quick sand and lead us to our salvation. Iam afraid its not going to happen, without a similar plan that Penrith have in place and the people to make the plan work.

Our time at the bottom could be longer than we all thought would be possible

Bang on unfortunately. It's a salary capped league; with vigilant management you can just about rebuild a squad in a season or two, especially when you have a few pieces upon which to build.
Instead our lot continually shuffle deck chairs around the titanic.
No accountability.
