The Dragons appear to be in a whole heap of trouble. Firman out of the year, Barrett's form still poor and Gasnier in Premier League. Premierships contenders? I think not.... :D

Thats probably true as well. BUt hopefully not.

Just a quick off topic question, have you guys been happy with Stu Raper so far? Being Successful in England and being successful in Australia are very different, and I was wondering if you guys reackon he is up to NRL coaching standards.

He seems ok so far. Bit of an off game in round one, but apart from that we're going well. The difference between this year and last is that you can see the potential in the side. You see the defence last week and various moments in attack yesterday and you realise the potential of this team is huge. Last year there were massive irrevocable problems that looked unfixable. Each week was just about how many we'd get done by. This year, a top 8 spot is looking likely. And of course we haven't had our full strength team on the park yet.

Oh really! We nearly got beaten by a bunch of has beens! We should have won by 50 . We lacked the intensity to trouble the top sides and a few injuries will test our depth severly. Except for the opening 10 min of the second half both teams were pretty even. Notice how we went to sleep midway through the second half , think of how teams like Penrith and the Roosters will make us pay for that!

Admittedly we did go to sleep but I really didn't think Manly were ever a chance to grab victory. I don't know how you could call Manly a bunch of has beens. Sure they had a couple of old stagers out there but it appeared to me that they had more rookies in than us. They played with a lot of enthusiasm and vigour last night and I thought the sharks showed some good controlled aggression and flashes of brilliance. If we can work on the lapses and silly penalties in the ruck area our season will be good. This was a much needed win to boost confidence and build on. Sure it will be tough against the Roosters etc but it is tough for every team against them also. Keep the faith!

I ask the question because Stu was successful in the UK, but he was in charge of Wigan. That comp is dominated by Wigan, St Helens and Bradford year in and year out. It just had me wondering whether being in charge of a powerhouse made him a good coach.

If the Dragons were to get Millward (Helens coach) I would be cautious as he has been in charge of a team dominating a competition. Just thought those coaches might struggle in a much more competitive NRL environment.

btw Genius Freak, love the avatar, one of the freakier things that have happened on WWE.

Considering what happened to Owen Hart, that kid must have balls, you could tell he was sh***ing himself just before he jumped...who wouldnt?

LOL, we've got a tough openng draw - playing Canberra, Auckland, Melbourne - all geniune title threats.

Your mob have played Wastes Tigers, C*nterbury & Manly - two dead-set no-hopers & a mob who are up on *alleged* rape charges.

But we're on the same points

Early days guys. It's like a South Sydney supporter talking themselves up if the win the Charity Shield.

Cheers,
Ben S.
