Hilarious column, she just gets better. Trying to convince people that Murdoch's little lap dog was 'too much of his own man' for Grant. Gold

She isn't allowed to write articles slamming the Wanderers since her brother married Chris Bath so look out for a weekly column of NRL bashing this year

Don't worry mate, she has written plenty of bad shit about the Wanderers, so much that the RBB made a huge sign last year that said "Bec - Worry about an RBT, Not the RBB".

Apparently, her brother found it quite amusing.

The sad part is once upon a time she was a very good sports journo until her bias took over. She has let her personal vendettas cloud her judgement. The fact she is married to the John Hartigan is a big reason. It makes her a tad untouchable when she should be reigned in. She is part of News Ltd royalty now. Her brother is annyoing but he at least a fair journo and an entertaining pain in the arse on Sky Sports late night shows.

At least Jim gives ALL sports a fair go.

interesting that email she sent someone

she dislikes League because of some things players did all from different clubs

she likes AFL because she can't think of a Swans player ever doing wrong

wonder why she doesn't care about the shit other AFL clubs players have done?
The cygnets are the fumbleball club she's an ambassador for.
I'm not sure if she gets any sort of payment, cash or otherwise for the role.
I would be surprised if she and other fumbleball ambassadors didn't get some sort of benefits.
Perhaps somebody on here knows the answer to that.

the best bit when you click on that post for the email is the response to the right from a guy tom cleary, who outlines the misdemeanour's in the AFL over the past six months: https://www.facebook.com/sackrebeccawilson/photos/a.201551910019727.1073741828.153387301502855/365345646973685/?type=1&theater

it's fair enough to get upset at the atrocities, but there is no balance to her argument. and to unload on richo about his appointment to the NRL is absurd.

the more irrelevant they become, the more they lash out in anger.

cue a column defending gallop, news ltd and hartigan on saturday, whilst viciously attacking waldron. the current NRL and ARL commission will also come under fire because they have too many overpaid staff and should have had a delorian to go back in time and fix this mess already.

well, not what i was expecting, but still more rubbish from her. mind you, she has a go at the whole world in this though:

ANOTHER day, another disappointment for the National Rugby League.

Dave Smith’s decision (or it could have been one of his consultants) to launch the season in New Zealand in January has senior club figures privately fuming about the timing and tone of the event.

Instead of using superstars Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis as the stars of the show, Smith himself performed the job. Already under fire for launching his season in New Zealand, Smith added insult to injury by using the Nines as his launch pad in a cluttered schedule of summer sport in Australia.

Smith is being advised by a huge consultancy called Crosby Textor, which is headed up by Mark Textor, one of the blokes who has been handing Tony Abbott brilliant advice in recent months. Textor is a kingmaker who charges a king’s ransom. The NRL has been paying the firm for, in their words, “help with research from time to time”. Focus groups, research, surveys. Alarm bells are ringing loud with the mere mention of those words.

No other professional sport in the world has a season that lasts ten months and no winter code in Australia has ever launched its season in the middle of the Australian Open tennis, the One Day series and the Asian Cup final week.

Club bosses are wondering when anyone at the NRL or at the Commission going to start querying the cost of stables of consultants, executives and extremely expensive events like the one in Auckland for 500 people? One wondered out loud: “Why can’t we launch our season at the start of the real season?”

The game is the star. The players are the stars. One would venture a big opportunity has been lost this week in New Zealand.

They really are getting pathetically desperate in finding things to attack Smith for, timing of a launch to coincide with all clubs already being in Auckland for the Nines, ridiculous!

They launch the season during the Aust Open tennis, One Day series( hasn't that been exciting), and the Asian Cup, yet from what I've seen, the NRL launch has led the sports news, including her rather prominate article in the Saturday paper...

Who are all these unnamed club CEO's supposedly feeding her all these quotes about how unhappy they are...Why would anyone be talking to a germ like her about anything to do with the game?

She couldn't possibly be making this up could she?

I disagree about the NRL launch leading the news.
All I've heard on radio and TV the last week is Asian Cup Football, Tennis, and Robert Allenby.
Nrl might the advertising on Twitter but MSM is concentrating on other things.
