I don't support all the comments made about this journalist. And there is no excuse for harassment of anyone via email. This journalist might be more popular with some people, however, if she was more balanced, concerned for facts, and did not attempt to destroy the game that has supported her own employment, while promoting a rival code (ie rugby union).

To print something simply from ONE email someone sends you is an absolute disgrace.

Agreed, but in this case Rebecca Wilson wasnt being harrassed by anyone. She simply published an unsubstantiated rumour.
No wonder she's peeved, having to check the validity of sources represents actual hard work.

Furthermore, it wasnt this internet forum which embarrassed you. So don't lay the boot into rugby league discussion boards simply because someone has access to email. I've seen you use league forums in the past when it suits you.

Another place that would probably love to hear about this, and more likely to run the story that Media Watch which only airs for 15mins per week is www.crikey.com.au


I am sure they would love to know about her claim to have witnessed the "incident" herself, not to mention the phone calls from and to Cityrail.

It'll probably get a run in a slow news week. It's pretty light-weight compared to the stuff Mediawatch usually tackles.

Unfortunately Media Watch didn't run it tonight, but they had a few rugby league-flavoured stories at the start.

We just need to make it clear that this was only done to prove how poor Ms Wilson's standards really are. Not because we're all disgruntled Bulldogs fans or trying to deflect league's current problems. That was such a poor call by the SMH.
