I hate the idiot, but to be fair to her, she no longer works for rugby league, has no obligation to the game anymore, and is entitled to express her own feelings and opinions as she sees fit.

That's why league need more people in admin who have an undenying loyalty and passion for game. Less Rebecca Wilsons.

What a peculiar comment to make, suggesting that all woman are unfit to comment on sport, you can't be serious surely! I'm sure Anne Sargeant is packing her microphone away as we speak and never returning to the netball stadium. Look at competent female RL writers from the recent past, both Deb Spillane and Lisa Olsen performed, at least to regular standards.

Deb Spillane was good, Lisa Olsen was crap.....Anne Sargeant is a diff. case cos netball is a women's sport.

I dont really think anyone is suggesting that. People couldnt care less if she was man, woman or animal (or a combination) but it's the tacky way she carries herself which irks most. Her shameless flirting on The Fat disgusts me, she's a middle aged dog for f**k's sake. I'm just glad she's not my mother, what an undying horror that would be.

We all know that she writes rubbish and needs to continue to resort to trashy gossip to pay her drink driving fines. I just don't bother reading her columns any more. I'd love to boycott the Telecrap entirely, but my wife likes their TV Guide and their lifestyle lift-outs so my attempts to do so are overruled.

She's like a fart outside in an open area. Stinks for a while, mildy annoying, but ultimately of little substance and, if you are a patient, will disappear before you know it.

Deb Spillane was good, Lisa Olsen was crap.....Anne Sargeant is a diff. case cos netball is a women's sport.

I agree with everyone - RW is a dud but calling her a journalist is an insult to those in the profession. (BTW as a PR person for Super League - she stank big time!)

I want to defend Lisa Olsen. She did a great job while she was over here. Being an Amercian, Lisa had to learn everything from scratch and I think her view on Australian sport always came from an interesting position.

As a 20 year old female who has supported this fine game for a very long time its an insult that this women gets the chance to write league stories and waste her space with mindless crap. I am aiming to have a career hopefully somewhere within the business of rugby league be it in journalism, PR, admin etc. The way she is portrayed as a journalist is a complete joke. At least Weidler has interesting and for the majority of the time factual stories.
The woman is a complete embaressment. For young women aspiring to be involved in sports journalism, PR and admin.

Edited to add: I read back over it and yes the sentence was to long.

we need more women in the press and so on.the more women that are in the media that love league the better.if you really want to work for the game you love,dont let anyone hold you back.

females are the market that we should be going after,they drag boyfriends and hubbies to games and they are the ones that(most the time) have the last say on what sport there children play,if we can get females into our game at any level,league will grow at a stagering rate

and at the same time ppl like wilson will be out of a job :lol:
