Well done Ram, you know the real story, 4 years ago Pearce was offered the most money that any non NRL player had been offered at Parra. He received 3 times that at the Roosters and had not played even NYC, he has basically been on NRL money since signing at the Rorters as a 16 year old, a gamble that paid off.

I know this, but my point with someone like Pearce is that you make a big play for these types of players if you can to at the very least push up their price if they stay with their current club, just as they do to us.

Pearce was at Norths in SG Ball, we made a play, but the Rorters just went so far, not even the Storm or Manly would chase him. he was 16, so not effectively in a position to have his wages pushed higher by another bid.

Perhaps someone can list a player that has signd elsewhere that will significantly improve our roster. It seems overs were paid for the players we have lost and Hodko is no way a $270k half back.

There are a lot of players off contract that will become availble at a decent price, patience is a virtue.

For a halfback I'd rather Hodko for $270k than Morts on $250k

I meant for his 2009 contract.

I'm not sure what Pearce's contract status was back in 08/09 but the bloke who makes the decisions about recruitment at our club quit his post in November 08.

you can hardly blame the blokes who are already here for that one.
