All to do with the local league in the shire & those running it & the ethics they instill in the local players, or more importantly, lack of it.
The shire local league expects the Sharks to be a vehicle for thier players so the individual club can say "there's our boy" playing in the big time , lets pat ourselves on the back & get some more dough from the Sharks.

The association with the local league has always been one of the anchors with the Sharks throughout our short history.

We've seen the young Panthers' fullback and Simona progress from NSW Cup to the NRL. What motivates some players to persevere while some just don't kick on? The coach of the NRL team may have a lot to do with it. Potter seems to be very willing to use NSW Cup players eg Simona.

Not much recently because we have been broke. Feeding the junior system was also the Titans biggest mistake. Nearly sent them broke too. No coincidence that since the development all the affiliations with shire junior rugby league want to be on the board at the Sharks.
