Wasn’t it 24 in a row for the New York Yacht club in the America’s Cup?But it isn't the greatest winning run by a professional club is it. Doesn't a Scandinavian soccer team have that?
wow!! Im from Bundaberg now living in WA, thanks so much!!! I first got into Saints from the 1977 GF and played junior rep league for Wide Bay in the 80s

Given those wins took the winning run to somewhere around 100 years unbeaten, that’s got to be up there too..
Possibly so from a rugby league perspective if you want to narrow it down..Who cares! There is no first grade rugby league club that comes anywhere close to the all mighty Saints achievement of 11 consecutive GF's.
Weren't they found to be an amateur or lower grade club? Can't recall the details now.But it isn't the greatest winning run by a professional club is it. Doesn't a Scandinavian soccer team have that?
We need to stay up to date with putting our brand 'out there'.
The board should be onto this.
They should be listening to the fans.
Locking themselves in their glass houses does nothing to grow the club.
Pointless bringing in new fans if existing ones are leaving. They should be listening, learning andmaking the adjustments that any long term business needs to do to stay relevant.
Look at Toyota.
Stuck their heads in the sand.
Charged top dollar for their cars.
Quality gone downhill.
People are waking up.
Must keep their ears and eyes open.
fantastic! I actually got into St George due to Mum allowing us to buy one league jersey through RLW mag in 76.......so poor the only ones we were allowed to buy were the lowest tier basic ( as they were in three price groups on complexity of jumper) which included, Maggies, Balmain Newtown and Saints, so I put my thinking cap on and thought....hmm....who would beat a Magpie or a Tiger? a DRAGON!! so went for St George after that and joined under 9s Brothers up there... then next year BAM Baths babes gave everyone a towelling and I was set for life! Didnt get to see my first Saints game live though till Storm entered the comp in 98 as I was living in Melbourne as a musician at the time.....that was one of the best days of my life as they were the first ever team to Beat Storm in Melbourne! magic night....Who cares! Apologies, I should have clarified. World record in the top flight competition of any football code in the world. But it isn't the greatest winning run by a professional club is it. Doesn't a Scandinavian soccer team have that?
Alrighty. I'll nominate the NZ Black Ferns for 24 consecutive wins for women's Union, as well as 5 out of 6 World Cup wins JohnsyApologies, I should have clarified. World record in the top flight competition of any football code in the world.

Maybe mate but I wouldn't want to be up against them. I sorta like my nose pointing in the right direction. These girls are tough XxThat’s like nominating a winner in a one horse race
Hasn't Wild Oates X1 alluded to the possibility of taking on the America's Cup? Bring it on if true mate.Yes, but we aretalking about competitions that are not rigged or totally corrupt, so to speak.
The NYYC write the book to suit themselves.
No one was supposed to beat them.
It wasn't expected to happen.
We and other nations were invited to compete on their terms.
We weren't supposed to win the b!oody thing!
Its just not cricket ole chap!
GREAT story thanks!! same! I had no idea about there fame or GF string of wins, but when I told my legend of a Grandad I was going for Saints he clued me in! the bizzare thing about growing up in QLD in the 70s and 80s...utterly ZERO NSWRL on TV!! nothing.so I didnt get to see my Dragons play at all ever only if theyd made the actual GF!! I used to only be able to listen to gems on AM radio as the only league on tele was the BRL competition which was So strong and entertaining then! I went for Wynum Manly in that and we had half the Aussie team anyway....greg Dowling, Colin Scott, Gene Miles, King Wally... I remember my whole junior under 10 league team going down to see a Brisbane GF once, it was Souths coached by Wayne Bennett vs Redcliffe captain coached by Artie Beetson! amazing game...total thriller, Mal Meninga was in Souths also, great days!!I had no idea who they were , can you believe that ? Totally ignorant to the fact that they had won numerous premierships and were still going strong . My mate had the words ‘Souths all the way ‘ on his school bag and I actually asked him what it meant. He told me that it was the rugby league team and to watch it on the weekend ( in black and white in those days .
Even though I was playing the game at school and on a weekend , I had no idea that it was played by adults also , as I said naive.
So off to the pub we went where the publican would allow in to sit in the back corner ( “ and behave yourselves and don’t say a word to anyone that you were here “ . Hence my introduction to rugby league and also becoming a lemon quash addict at such a tender young age .
So possm are you still up at the bay ??????? would be good to catch up and watch a gameI first retired to Hervey Bay when I was 38. The Dragons had a few trials up at Hervey Bay and boy was I happy when I saw the wide by rugby league jumber - white with the big red V. So watching the wide bay team was the next best thing to watching Saints go around in Sydney.
Credit where it is due, great effort. However it isn't 11 years in a row.Alrighty. I'll nominate the NZ Black Ferns for 24 consecutive wins for women's Union, as well as 5 out of 6 World Cup wins Johnsy.
