Know as little about Potter as I do Robinson but his comments about Benji are inspiring. Seems someone is finally
telling Marshall what the whole world knows, stop confusing the team, if reason prevails maybe Potter can sit in
the stands and not need to be within yelling distance like his predecessor. Marshall and Farah together was like
striking flint, never knowing which direction the sparks will fly.

Then there's Blair, another player needing simple instructions, so hopefully Mick can tie all these loose canons down
enough to consolidate the team. At least Anasta knows how to point and he might be useful. For the first time in
a while the Tigers are not imaginary favourites so that's a plus and if Potter can convince a still fairly impressive
team he is in charge they may surprise.

You seem overly concerned with the fortunes of Souths lately, when you took the boys to the Roosters familiarisation
day you weren't booked on the way through Redfern were you. What is it you can see about Inglis we can't see . . .
don't tell me I've got to come around and adjust your aspect ratio again.

Oh, just to add, Greg played 80 minutes last night and will probably every game, his year looks Sunnier to me than some.
The #1 in every team should ease an 80min performance, GI was there for best part of the first 40, then the sleeping pill he took at halftime must have kicked in or he got tired of lugging his fat arse around? With Pearces replacement being AWOL in all of his performances thus far in 2013 things don't look so bright for Souths. SBW is an impact player and Robbo will use him in the way that best suits the team...

So that's it . . . 'Pearce's replacement'. Silly of me not to guess, although the Inglis hate is hard to fathom,
especially with everyone raving about him. So, how long are you going to blame Reynolds and Souths by
way of association because the arsewipes favour him over Pearce. Can we talk about something else when
I see you Monday.

Only just had a chance to watch a replay of the WCC, crikey Bellamy is a hard task master. Surely he must be happy
with Melbourne's last 20 minutes, the scrambling defence was superb, especially under the circumstances. Had to feel
for Cam Smith who doesn't take kindly to training and relies on match fitness, which is the only thing that kept the
Poms in the game.

Coming away without serious injury is more important than the cup and if Bellamy is searching for a new Manu/Blair
it looks like he's found a rough diamond with Harris. The Storm could have a better forward pack than in recent
years if the new recruits man up as expected. The pisspoor lighting wasn't conducent to successful refereeing decisions
that added to the exciting conclusion of the game but although fitness was a little one sided it was worth the price of admission.

An encouraging sign for Storm is their pickups in the forwards, they now seem to have an improved pack with more size, speed, better skill set and added aggression... 2013 should see their backs with more room to move and receiving better ball.

The Warriors think ball security is wearing budgie smugglers so the last thing they need is a Benji style halfback,
the longer Johnson stays injured the better. Godinet is the closest they're going to get to a non speculator and if
Elliott wants go forward Pita might be his salvation. Not sure if it's an islander thing or just this particular group of
players but I've never seen a team so affected by disappointment.

Lowrie may have a bee in his bonnet by having to make way at Melbourne but his aggression is well placed at the
Warriors, even worth a penalty or two, if he can stimulate others to play to their size. No sense in a haka if fear
disappears once it's over, through the middle is where this team needs to go.

Appears patience and solidarity are the main ingredients in Robbo's anti venom for Brian Smith, and the sooner
the Roosters' playing group see SBW as superfluous the more value he will have to the team. No better way than
to win consistently without him and although just a trial tonight's game was an eye opener if only for one of the combatants.

I'm a bit tired of hearing Benji's 'there are a lot of things we need to work on' spiel and it is refreshing not to hear
the Roosters being 'hard done by'. According to last year's stats the Roosters have no way to go except up, but
imo 'up and away' is within their grasp if Robinson and Taylor have their say.

Defense remains top of the agenda..

Griffin has many very good players at his disposal but therein lies the problem, he has no-one magical.
Bennett was in the envious position of having every promising player in the Sunshine State patiently
lining up for a crack but News wanted both it's teams successful, hence the drying up of the local
wishing well. Maybe someone can fill me in regarding the quality of help Anthony is getting, even the
great Mexican revolutionist has distinguished lieutenants.

Graham Murray for instance, who is too good to be an assistant, would bear keeping an eye on as
coach of Wynnum Manly, it won't be long before he unearths any gold lurking near the surface.
Let's hope something turns up for Griffin before his turn comes on the poaching merry go round.

Considering my loathing for poaching I would like nothing better for the Papalii furore to evolve into a shitfight,
monumental enough to cause the ARLC to realise the biggest threat to League's new era of sponsor confidence
is instability. Forget the supporters and players who are confused about commitment, loyalty and more importantly
trust, people financially backing clubs need to know their best interests are protected rationally.

After all Josh is only a forward not a crucial playmaker, something the Raiders are still in search of, but he could
have been which would deter any prospective sponsor who thought the team they were investing in was suddenly
devalued. Suppose Ford decided to back Cronulla and Holden took on Melbourne, Gallen would look good in purple.

Common sense alone tells us the betterment of the game demands constant discovery of new talent, something all
clubs should be forced to participate in. No better way than to give them protection when they find that talent.
Ironic that the salary cap is designed to counteract 'rich man poor man' but does nothing to promote reward for
enterprise. F**kwits think it's fabulous that Melbourne were punished for keeping what they found but wouldn't
it be great if the Storm poached the best players and were allowed to keep doing it forever . . . Victoria is the
home of sport anyway.

Clubs need to know they have leverage by way of salary cap concessions for players they promote to the NRL,
Gallop never understood it, inadequate coaches like Stuart don't want it, players, supporters and sponsors need it.

Maybe the Bulldogs sudden rush to get Falou for the 2013 season means Barba won't be returning for 2013?

Daily Telegraph

Bulldogs tried to sign Folau for 2013

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have been quietly making some inquiries about superstar Israel Folau‘s availability later this season.
Folau has signed for only one season in the Super 15s with the Waratahs, who play their final competition game on July 13.
The Dogs were hoping he might be available for the last eight rounds of the NRL season, if the Waratahs don’t make the finals.
The plan was to sign him before the June 30 deadline then wait until Super 15 season was over.
Sources at the Australian Rugby Union later revealed he was in fact under contract until December 31 and would be available to play for the Wallabies.
The NRL’s Shane Mattiske also told me a contract couldn’t be registered while a player was playing and contracted in another professional sport

Falou won't/couldn't replace Barba, he's a finisher not a starter. I'd like to see the Dogs waste their time
with Israel but I don't think Des is that dumb, he must know the bloke can't play anywhere except wing,
he's about as intuitive as a roo on a highway. His defence is not even good enough to play centre.
Keating would have to be a bomber pilot to get value from Israel and Cronk he's not.

This Barba beatup couldn't have come at a worse time and it's nothing to do with a dumbarse spoilt kid who has even
bigger dumbarse friends, there are plenty of high profile ratbags who waste what the rest of us dream of. Some let their
mouth destroy what their fists could have achieved, pedal their way into oblivion because great was not enough or
even shoot their girlfriend. None of this anything to do with sport.

I don't want the Papalii thing to be hidden in the trash when it needs serious attention. I've given my opinion ad nauseum
on what needs to be done to stabilize reckless, infuriating and demoralising player poaching but what about the timing.
If a player so much as relieves himself against a wall in Manly he gets drawn over the coals for bringing the game into
disrepute, alright though to sign with another club without consideration of demeaning promised commitment.

Parramatta, Stuart, Papalii's manager and any other wankers involved should be fined for jeopardising the prosperity of
a season not yet begun. Forget any gutless attempt to steal what they can't produce for reasons that escape logic,
the Eels don't deserve to win by treading water at the finishing end of the pool. What the f**k was Stuart employed
to do, create a future production line or wear a mask and shout 'stand and deliver'.

Call me sceptic, cynic or just plain old doubting Thomas, imo there's a simple explanation for Barba becoming
one of the forty thieves. Depends how much Aboriginal blood courses through his veins mind you, but I'm willing
to bet he wants to be where he wants to be. Greenberg would never be amiable to someone who wants out,
especially his 'star' player, so we are going to be bombarded with innuendos, accusations and remedies when
there is really no crisis at all.

Like I said in another thread, who would want to stay in SW Sydney if there was a choice. Just in case he gets
away with it I bet the Q teams are rearranging the deck chairs and I said before Ben wouldn't be far away from
Mackay in Cowboys' colours. Even the tatoo could be a subterfuge if all other avenues have been exhausted,
his performance in Allstars is as good as a wink and a nod, and it's a shorter trip to Origin if you're a local.

What the f**k is he Pops?

I know it's "sticky beakish" of me, but I've always wondered.

He looks South Asian to me (i.e., Indian, Pakistani, etc).

But f**k me, he doesn't look Indigenous at all?

He's got an Aboriginal mother I think and anyone watching the Storm/Dogs game last year in Mackay couldn't help
but notice how comfortable he was . . . totally belies his current predicament
