Reds snare Raiders skipper

Sure he's 30...and will play on the wing (maybe) for the Reds. They need a goal kicker and Clinton is up there with the best. He is also signed as backup for Reds fullback Chris Latham.

Good luck to him. He's a professional footballer and as such can go wherever he pleases. Apparently the Raiders offered him more money than the Reds and he still chose to move to Brisbane. Interesting.

Will be good to see how he goes.

Sucks for the Raiders, but the game itself will hardly notice that he's gone.

Can't help but laugh at RU though. Nothing says that the talent pool is bone dry like running around chasing up corporate financial backing for an untested (in RU) 30 year old Rugby League fullback to become a goal-kicking winger in elite RU.

There's a scary thought...didn't he flop when he switched codes!!!

Unusual for you to give the union perspective, Thomas.

Carne received about half a dozen smacks in the head before switching codes at the very end of his career (which probably also explains his decision). He was a shadow of his former self by the time he finished with rugby league.

This guy in no way speaks for other Raiders fans.

May I suggest anger management WM?

mate there are many raiders fans that feel the very same way. no one cares that he left, just the fact that he lied to the raiders, and showed them the upmost disrespect.

his own selfishness and two faced behaviour has cost the raiders a chance to sign a suitable replacement, and Many raiders fans are justifiably angry at him.

Whta sort of club captain comes out in the media saying "Im committed to the radiers for another 2 years" and gives a heart warming confirmation of his passion and and love for the club, an then 2 days later comes out and says hes off to union because they got some extra money for him?

The guy is a turd of the highest order

his own selfishness

He signed for the Reds for less money than the Raiders were offering him.

Obviously there's more to it than money....

And Calixte...I know exactly what you mean about Carne. I saw him get 7 kinds of snot beaten out of him at a Brisbane nightspot just before he switched codes. He was silly enough to make a racist remark to a fijian bloke he was playing pool with.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Where did I suggest hes in it for the money?

When you called him selfish. The only implication that can be drawn from that comment is that you think he is in it for the money.

thats sore loser speak for "I have a lot of respect for his talent and I'm really going to miss him playing for my team"

mate do you know anything about this whole scenario? Im not angry he's leaving. Im angry he lied to us and cost us a chance to get another player for next season.

if he comes out and says "Im going to Union" I would have said "best of luck thanks for the memories" and he would have left a raiders legend. His reputation and status amongst the radiers club is forever tarnished

No, He acted against his word to suite his own personal needs. That is selfish and two faced, whether his needs are money or otherwise

To you perhaps. Others, such as myself, bear no ill will whatsoever to Schifcofske and will remember the good times he provided us.

He's moving because he's assured of a spot at the Reds. A few years ago when he was passed over for the Maroons Qld spot when everyone thought he was a moral, his form hit the floor.

He has no chance of being the Maroons Fullback if either Inglis or Hunt are fit.

Would Marshall Chalk be the likely replacement at fullback down at Canberra, Ive seen him a few times, he goes alright.
william zillman will most likely play fullback next year. these days chalk is more of a utility player.

Fair enough, if you can cop being stabbed in the back and blatantly lied to by a supposed club legend, thats your choice, but please don't blame the rest of us for being angry at him
