Ref and Bunker Decisions

How could that dolt atkins get that ball travelling 10m call so wrong at such a crucial stage of the game? Everybody at the ground and watching on TV could clearly see the ball travelled 10m from the kick off. What a useless ref, and showed it throughout the game.

And the dolt had a perfect view as he was in-line with it.

The near side touchie should have been on the 40m line... Anyone with a grain of feel for the game knew that was setup for a short kick off. How hard is it to get the touchies to do anything... I stand by my opinion that touch judges are just emotional support people for the referees at their workplace.

So now we know that if a ball rolls down your arm while trying to ground it but doesn't lose contact you, in fact, have control of the ball. That's gotta be the dumbest rule interpretation I've seen.

.
The only people I've seen that thought it was a try, have affiliation to the Roosters.

Pretty lame listening to Fittler on CH9 say he had no problem with it at all, then Joey/Lockyer performing a merry dance around the fact you could tell neither thought it was a try, but didn't want to contradict their mate

Go to the gameday thread, knights fans think it was a try.

You may not agree with the rule but it was changed in 2023 and the wording leaves no doubt that it was a try based on current rules.

To be fair, I'm about the only Knights fan who thought it was a try haha. Maybe one other. Its an awful rule but it was a try under the current rules and interpretations (changed in 2023).

I don't think its come up much since they changed it. Probably none as polarising anyway.

It was a try by the current interpretation of the rules. It certainly doesn’t pass the pub test though and I’m pretty certain if the Roosters were paying a “big” club and not just the Knights it wouldn’t have been a try.

Well we don't know that. Has there been another occasion since 2023 that we can compare to?

Of a team not being given a try for a forearm put down since they changed the rule in 2023.

Don't play the wilful ignorance card and pretend you don't know what I'm referring to.
Woody wasnt being that specific. Rules are selectively applied every year and there are certain clubs that have them go their way more often than not.

Dont speak to me of wilful ignorance while ignoring that fact mate

Yes he was, he was referring to the try in question. I asked a specific question about instances of the forearm rule since 2023 when it changed.

Do you have an example or not?

The funniest part of this is Easts fans thinking they still support a big relevant club.
As usual you have it wrong. It's supporters of other teams saying we get the "big club" tax on these decisions.

Glad to know that you agree we aren't a big club and therefore the decision was right
