Ref and Bunker Decisions

There were 3 blatant incidents of foul play just ignored by the bunker in 3 separate matches - on Keppie (high tackle across throat), Fermor (high tackle across face) and Walsh (hit late). Two of those incidents led directly to tries being scored the next set by their opponents.

The number of times the refs change interpretations in the same season just adds another layer of imbalance to the competition.

Another I noticed - and at the risk of upsetting Valheru and the Roosters brigade - how about that magnificent tackle from Tedesco to deny Tuilaga a try yesterday afternoon. Marvellous covering tackle where even the commentators missed the very clear swinging arm to the head.

Yes indeed, was like the commentators were watching something else entirely

Yes, and Tulilaga suffered a significant injury from it and will miss upwards of 6 weeks... oh, wait

I wasn't aware that an incident and subsequent injury had such a bearing on whether a player is suspended, put on report, penalised or isnt even noticed. Thanks for the clarification.

The NRL have said publicly a few seasons back that any resulting injury from foul play will affect the grading of any charge on a player who committed said act.
