Ref Chris James to sue NRL for unfair dismissal

Only in that they apply the standard inconsistently.

If incompetence was a sackable offence there'd be no refs left.

Yeah good point.

The fact Perenara hasn't been sacked yet, let alone gets test matches, is evidence of this.

This will be an easy one for the NRL to win. Just show 5 minutes of one of his matches. Case closed.

Out of a bad bunch, James was consistently the worst. The reason so many of you don't remember him is because he has been relegated to the support role since they stopped doing a 50/50 share between the two referees, so he doesn't get to make as many decisions anymore.

I'll never forget that time when Luke Burt made a break against the Raiders, and he was brought down by David Milne. Milne got up quickly, but Burt decided to milk it anyway by throwing himself to the ground without a hand on him. Chris James obliged him by penalising and sin binning David Milne for doing absolutely nothing.

An absolute peanut who should have been sacked years ago.

I was under the impression that NRL Referees were signed to one year contracts. Unless I'm wrong about that, I can't see how you can sue for a contract not being renewed...?

He was always the pocket referee - that's why no one noticed him

The fact he hadn't progressed to a main referee after 200 odd games speaks volumes about what his bosses thought of his performances

I don't remember him offending me ever

Honestly I had to google his name to see a picture of him and work out what ref this was (FYI he is the little bloke that looks like Grant Denyer).

The fact I had to do that probably speaks volumes to how good a ref he is, since he hasn't been involved in any of the typical rage inducing clangers that idiots like Sutton (take your pick which one I'm talking about), Badger, Cummins, or the rest of Archer's protected mates get away with every bloody year.

Have to agree with this.
Never heard of the f**ker, which means he's probably good at refereeing, which means he probably is in Archer's bad books for not hitting the right KPIs aka KFC ads and shit obstruction calls.

I remember that moment. I was truly disgusted with how Burt put up the 10 fingers and James obliged and sent Milne for 10. Burt made that call for him. Awful.
