Ref.

Jason Stevens was stripped, plain and simple.

A try ensued after the ref falsely called a knock on.

Simmonds dropped the ball clearly onto the goal post pad, and then failed to ground it anyway, ref was not even sighted, he was on the other side of the padded post. He looked in a daze as he awarded the try, he should have gone to the video ref and then try would would have been NOT awarded.

For a game in the balance until the last 10 minutes, those calls were not good enough.

Im not saying the match was lost due to these, that is pure speculation, but those calls there above are facts, and blatant errors, he must be stood down for a few weeks.

Absoluteltely right Beeks. There were several other shockers that went against us - Hilders pass to Gallen was NOT forward (although I'm not sure he made the line with his planting of the ball) and another 2 or 3 crucial decisions against us.

We were slaughtered by the prick.

Could not agree more beeker he had the worst game i have seen in a long time..I know we were our worst enemy but i cannot help thinking if you take away the 12 points that they got by default and add merrits bad pass gee things start to get interresting for a team that played like crap.

I love this .. havent had so much fun since we used to swear all manner of things at Greg Hartley (most of which of course my children would be thrown out of the house for uttering in public). Now there was a referee you could REALLY hate :)

If he's the game's top referee then what are we doing about getting some new blood?

Could the NRL look at making ALL try decisions by video ref?

I'd be having more fun if he'd given us a fair go. We'd have won today with a fair go.

Nah, we probably would have had more opportunities to drop it! The ref was bad guys, but our handling was worse.

As Sharks, as a club with a big monkey on our backs, we surely must realise now that the team we build has to better than the refs.
I am sure Rapes is onto it.

McSharkie is spot on. Hold onto the ball and we win through weight of possession. 16/34 completions wins you zippo, regardless of the crap dished out by the ref.

Five minutes into the second half Merrit was stripped of the ball in a two man tackle. Withers scores a try in the ensuing move. After several replays it was obvious it was a very dubious decision by the ref to award a try without going to the video.

I watched the ref. He looked undecided but awarded a try. Gould and co were flabbergasted.

i agree with reefy. Whilst the ref was ordinary we were worse, we needed to win the game and whilst i thought we had a blooody good dig. You cant win the game by ballsing up sooooooooo many opportunities. Like i said we did okay and i hope they can give better in the next few weeks...

keep the faith sharks fans

tell me about it - 32 years and counting. I went to northies this arfo and had a bit of a laugh. Its funny how drags fans were there and couldnt understand why the crowd were giving it to them. The drag-dude who got thrown out by the bouncers was a dead set mad as a cut kebab and his greasy tears made me feel much much better.
