dont get me wrong guys, I know our handling was shocking and the game was there for us to win had we played better, Im not using the refs performance as an excuse, just that there were glaring errors today and if thats the best a local derby of that magnitude can be provided for by the NRL as far as officials go, then the game is always going to be poorer for it.

I know we were bad, sometimes that happens. But Hampstead gets paid for the shi t he dished up today. I can understand missing the strip, but not going to the video ref?? inexcusable.

He looked at it for a week, and then decided that it wasnt worth a look for the video ref. Im very dirty on him.

Archer and his useless touchies missing Utais knock on on friday was worse though. But fair dinkum, refs are untouchable.

Everyone else involved in the game is open to criticism, but had Rapes or Sheens said how atrocious their decisions were, theyd be fined.

Hampstead cost us a very good opportunity at a win today, he should be accountable. He didnt force the offloads and drop the balls, but hes not paid to do that. He is paid to ref, and he did it very badly.

Some decisions went against us, that's not in dispute, however our poor handling and poor last tackle decisions in the opposition 20 metres, cost us the match.

I was sitting on the hill with a group of Dragons fans...Even THEY thought the ref had a shocker.

They all acknowledged the Stevens strip.

And the Merrit strip.

And the non-forward pass.

And the no-try against the goal post.

Didn't stop them giving it to me though!

Hampstead won't get dropped because of all the other refereeing controversies this weekend - Archer and Simpkins will be under pressure after their efforts too and will be more likely to get punted IMO.

Hampstead was bloody awful but, for the record of any passing trolls, I don't think it changed the outcome of the game.

It's not Millers, most of us have said that it was other factors that led to our loss. You can't deny that Hampstead was woeful along with just about every other ref this weekend though.

a standard performance from a referee

cherry picking only things that went against us acheives nothing

we were lucky in a lot of situations not to get pinged for slowing the play the ball down

i suspect if the ref cracked down on us in that area their roll on would have utterly destroyed us on the flanks

exactly Millers.

But on the ruck play, how good is phil Bailey at it?

For every penalty he gives away, he slows down 10-15 play the balls. That is so valuable to our defense setting up.
He walks a very thin line between penalty & good play & gets it right many more times than not. He also spins quickly into marker position when doing it.
Some on here just fail to to see these deep intricacies of the game & give Bailey an unjustified pasting.
he is by far one of our most consistent performers.
& for the record only gave away 1 penalty yesterday. & when he argued with the ref, our line was totally reset. If that penalty did not happen, St George were specials to score within 2 play the balls.

I actually agree there reefy.

He scares the shyte out of me every time he (Bailey) tries an offload too, but he got plenty of good ones away yesterday.

If if if if if if blah blah blah.....

What a crock this thread is. Thankfully some of you guys had the decency to admit that you were outplayed but threads like these are embarrassing.

Calls went against both teams fairly evenly I thought and I dont for a second think that the decisions cost your team.

You were outplayed and soundly beaten, take a shower and start thinking about next season boys and girls.

Actually, after reading this post, I think I was wrong. I did fail to see the benefit of Bailey pushing the envelope, as it was. I over reacted yesterday afternoon. I was very disappointed.

Yet, your coach called it your 'worst performance of the year'.

face it, you were only marginally less poor than we were. And your own people admit it.

You'll get hammered in the finals. Just like you got hammered in the two rounds previous to this one.

What happens next week when we beat the Broncos and they lose to Nth Qld? It's all even again.

Oh the old 'you guys wont win anyway' chestnut!!

Nice ha ha ha.

We played very poorly yesterday but like they say, if you can play poorly and still win comfortably then you are going ok. I dont think any team is really firing at present and I wouldnt want to be firing this far out from the finals.

Its a matter of improving each week and peaking at the right time, which I have confidence we will do.

if you have so much "confidence" ribs

why are you here nervously going through threads and feeling the need to justify st georges poor performasnce?
