We had the game in a comfortable position for all but about 5 minutes of the game and once you jokers got close, we stepped up and put two tries on, so yes it was comfortable.

i have no doubt the (marginally) better team on the day got the result. scrappy from both teams but the sharks got what they deserved from so many errors and poor choices / executions. dragons were better - no excuses. barrett, sims and even riddell were all excellent.

but i also have no doubt that hampstead's run of crucial shocker decisions denied the sharks a fair go and gave the dragons points when they shouldn't have had them. all of the above incidents are plain to see on the footage. that's just not good enough.

shocking mr bean. if that's your best i think you should be fined for bringing the game into disrepute.

Two leading referees face the prospect of being dumped to Premier League today after the weekend's round.

It started on Friday night with the Matt Utai knock-on drama involving referee Tony Archer.

At Oki Jubilee Stadium, it was Sean Hampstead, the man dumped from Origin III, who Raper was unhappy with after a couple of questionable calls.

Adding further weight to Raper's comments were the voices of four other coaches - Tim Sheens, Steve Folkes, Brian Smith, Des Hasler and Michael Hagan - who all expressed disappointment about the standard of refereeing in round 20.

"The way the game was played both sides lost the plot. The whole game lost the plot," Raper said.

"The referee was in part of that. It sort of all went haywire. It was a mistake-a-thon by everybody on the field."

Referees boss Robert Finch refused to concede scalps might be sacrificed for round 21 but did admit the referees were under more pressure.

At Kogarah, Hampstead got off to a shaky start and never appeared to be completely comfortable, inexcusably letting a complaint about a head-butt from Dragons hooker Lincoln Withers go unchecked.

In the fourth minute Hampstead made a wrong call about a Sharks knock-on but fortunately video referee Steve Clark intervened to reverse the call.

In the 16th minute Jason Stevens was stripped in a two-man tackle but the Dragons were awarded the ball.
