Well this has certainly turned to sh*t.

Anyway, maybe they will, maybe they wont, if anything I think they simply need to keep pairing the ones with under 50 games with the more experienced ones to avoid f**kups like that saints vs cowboys game earlier in the year where Thurston was allowed to score of a gridiron pass near the line.

As for the op's criticism of the ref in the stg vs parra game, do you not think that Parra making 19 errors to Saints 6 may have something to do with them having to make 67 more tackles, along with the fact they completed 19 sets compared to Saints 38 that led them to be flogged?
Parra didn't make a linebreak and despite making 22 offloads to 11, they failed to match the metreage created by Saints by near enough to 300 metres.

Yep................................ it was all the ref.
For the record it was 8 penalties to 3, and funnily enough if you act like morons and play with ill discipline (and as a Saints fan I have seen ill discipline - Ryles) you will get penalised, Inu?
What the f**k do you expect the ref to do?, let it turn to sh*t like the Canberra game?

f**k off and don't come back.

Parramatta 74 - Sharks 4

At the time it was the ref's fault as well.

In retrospect it was the sharks fault for being crap.

At least when Melbourne nailed Saints 70 to 10 we just threw the hands up and said "yep, we are f**ked, royal"

The referees unfortunately will dictate a large number of the results foir the first week of the semis.

Their performance for most of the year and particuarly in the last round were nothing short of dosgraceful.

Archer in the Saints match did not even pretend to giver Parra a 50/50 chance..he was the classic home ground hero who killed Parra off in the first half..it was no contest after that. The looks on the Parra players faces said it all at most of the refereeing close calls going to Saints..they knew the crowd had a hold of Archer and co and that was it.

Archer and co permitted Saints to encroach on the ten at every opportunity..this killed the match as a contest straight away.
He penalised Parra out of the match in the first half and yet took no action aganist Saints for the same offences..Saints players could not believe their luck and took advantage of this generosity.

Saints played well, but were given a leg up at every stage by Archer and co. If Archer or Hayne are refereeing Kogarah again, it could be a massacre, I hope not because I want to see a genuine contest!

You cant blame the referee for giving penalties to the dominant physical side...that is the way league has always been.

Isn't there some old saying that good teams can overcome dodgy referees?

Oh look! We are being conditioned to accept tha fact that referees can be dodgy. :sarcasm: What happens if two "good" teams come up against each other and the referees are dodgy?

everyone pray that we don't see another grand final like broncos melbourne which was an absolute rort.

the sooner we get a challenge system in the better.

How can anyone forget that grandfinal...what a shocker.

Just watch Manly get the rub of the green this week....

The Eels have had one small victory this week, Jared Maxwell and Checcin are to referee their semi at Kogarah..after Archers lop sided performance I can envisage a closer game with a more even share of possession.

Hometown Hayne is looking after the Bulldogs which spells gloom for the Knights.

However given the odd panic stricken action of Maxwell on occasions I hope the game is decided on its merits!

Good news sharko, we are undefeated this year under these refs. Looks like you can re-run this thread next week
