Ok I know what you're all thinking - "another whinge thread by a Knights fan as to why they lost". And before I start, thats not what this is about. The Tigers, through Benji and Farah were simply too classy for us yesterday. They used the wind to their advantage throughout the second half, something which we didn't do enough of in the first half
I really do like watching Benji play - his second try yesterday (although Naiqama was like a statue ...) was absolutely brilliant. His kick for the winger to touch down in the corner showed great vision as well.
I'm just after some clarification on the rules and how a simple game such as rugby league can be made to look all the more difficult by our officials not having a handle on said rules.
My first gripe comes in the leadup to the Tigers first try. What exactly is the ruling on accidental offside? I was under the impression that if a ball hit someone, whether they were playing at it or not who is in front of the person who last touched the ball (from their own team) is deemed to be accidentally offside? Why exactly was it that Hampstead missed the ball rebound off Hodgson into a teammate and then back into Hodgson's arms before he pushed away from Wicks' disgraceful attempted tackle before scoring the try?
Secondly, Jarrod Mullen's penalty against him when in possession of the ball for not rising to his feet. Can someone please tell me how a player who has an opponent all over him attempting to slow the play the ball down gets the penalty against him? Sure, Mullo may have played the ball too quick, but both of his feet were planted on the ground as he played the ball before being pushed back down again. How the hell does that work?
If anyone can shed some light on these incidents I would be much appreciative.
Cheers.
