Referees

I can't think of a single ref that I would be hoping to officiate Tigers games, ie someone who I considered an excellent, impartial (preferably biased towards us) ref I would breathe a sigh of relief when i saw we had him.

Does anyone have someone they like?

What about ref's they hate getting?

My opinion is that 2 refs have exposed the lack of talent we have, and with all the money on the game I am amazed the NRL does not have a full time ref roster to cover every 1st grade game with spares.

Well as far as refs baised towards the Tigers goes, here is a list of refs who we have had a win success rate of 50% or greater since 2000.

Mark Oaten - 5 wins from 9 games
Mogsheen Jadwat - 2 wins from 3 games
Steve Clark - 17 wins from 34 games
Bill Harrigan - 4 wins from 5 games
Jason Robinson - 5 wins from 9 games
Gavin Badger - 3 wins from 3 games
Tony De Las heras - 2 wins from 2 games
Ben Cummins - 4 wins from 5 games
Bernard Sutton - 1 win from 1 game

And swaying in the other direction:
Paul Simpkins - 9 wins from 28 games
Sean Hampstead - 11 wins from 27 games
Tim Mander - 5 wins from 18 games
Tony Archer - 8 wins from 27 games
Matt Cecchin - 1 win from 6 games
Shayne Hayne - 10 wins from 24 games
Stephen Richards - 1 win from 3 games
Steve Lyons - 3 wins from 7 games
Rod Lawrence - 0 wins from 2 games
Russell Smith - 2 wins from 6 games

Mander was my Public Enemy No 1, closely followed by Simpkins, and the stats back it up too. I recognised we did alright under Steve Clark before as well.

Based on that, I now support Badger, De La Heras and Cummins :)

Maxwell and Archer , ego driven wallys. Although in the previous post stats show otherwise, I like Shayne the sun tan and Robbo

We won 2 semis and a grand final under Tim Mander :)

Simpkins was a classic he could pull out some howlers souths juniors ref so you could see where he stood.

Mander and simpkins were great to us in our finals run in 2005!
Matt Checchin should be forever in our debt...seems to be the only person in the GF that spotted the interfernce in Bowens disallowed try...hate to think how the game couldve panned out had that been alllowed

Steve lyons is a merkin

It will be interesting to look at the ref states for each game and then see what happens - would be nice to get a win against the eels but I am far from confident...
