The ref had a shocker but so did we.

When Stu Raper sits at a press conference and categorically states straight up that 'there is no doubt in my mind that the referee lost us the game today', I'll blame the ref for the loss. Otherwise, I'll never subscribe to the view that we got dudded.

Yes, there will be bad calls. Yes, they will sometimes come at crucial times in a match. But good teams play above poor refereeing calls, and I think that's how Stuart Raper sees it.

The ref did not lose us the match against the Dragons. He was poor but I don't believe he changed the result.

Simpkins did us a couple of years ago against Penrith but again I put it down to incompetence. If you think we're playing an extra man every weekend, then you're alleging some sort of bias against us and I just don't think that's true.

I also think Robbo is ok, i've got no problem with the ref this weekend but I have no confidnece in Shanye Hayne even as a touchie. If anyone will get us it will be him.

Sure we've copped our fair share of refereeing mistakes, but I'm sure we've got some good ones as well.

In reference to last weeks game, on face value some massive calls went against us, but we still could have won the game with better ball handling.

If we fix our own deficiencies up, the refereeing won't seem as big an issue.

Still, all this doesn't excuse some of the poor officialdom we are seeing at present.

I think Robinson is one of the best referees around. The way he handled Cayless a few weeks back was sensational - I don't know how he stayed calm, I would have been bringing a baseball bat out after 1/2 time.

The ref didn't lose the game for us, the team did that all by themselves.
If players had been able to hold the ball, then the dragons would not have had so much possesion on our line and therefore would have had far less scoring opportunites

refs can and do make mistakes, but that is not the reason why we lost last weekend
