x2.

Karma's post hit the nail on the f**king head:crazy:

We aren't as good as people around here think IMO.
not yet, anyway. plenty of potential, but we're not as close as we were probably led to believe early on in the season.

Ohhh we have potential for sure. But remember alot of our players are in their first or second year in FG.

If we can hold onto most of the players we will challenge for the comp soon. But as for now, well we are just a developing team.

What worries me the most is our Under 20s. They are ordinary and thats an understatement. While other teams are blooding future stars this year out of the NYC, who exactly in the Knights Under 20s looks like a legitimate first grade player anytime soon?

So far this year a grand total of ZERO players have been selected out of Under 20s team to play for the Knights first grade team.

As they say, if you're good enough, you're old enough.

Unfortunately for the Knights, they are not good enough in our 20s. And its a real concern for the future.

i brought this up a few weeks ago. the poor performance from our u20 team concerns the sh*t out of me. it seems like a bit of a mickey mouse club in our lower grades... you never know who is going to be playing in what position etc. it's an absolute shambles - which is a massive shame because i was looking forward to the u20's this year.

I used to really believe Joel Brown was going to be a standout footballer. He was a junior Australian rep after all.

But he has gone so far backwards this year its not even funny.

While his former Aussie schoolboy mates are playing first grade for other teams, he is wasting away in Knights lower grades not improving one iota.

I have no idea what the solution is.

I am inclined to agree with both sides.

There is no doubt the refereeing was poor and that we received more decisions that were blatantly wrong, or ones we can feel hard done by. However it doesn't necessarily mean it cost us the game. I am pretty sure a lot of the Knights fans here know it is our lack of experience and constant silly errors and penalties (two theories that relate) that is costing us games but you can't honestly say the refereeing was acceptable.

You can tell that we are almost overachieving in our results by looking at our team and comparing it to others. I think the thing that frustrates most supporters in here, myself included, is that we are almost doing better than expected; we as supporters were on a bit of a high and with the latest injuries, nail-biting losses, "luck of the draw" and now a sh*t refereeing performance to boot we have been brought back down to a low (some would call it a reality.. :fist: ) and are blaming the most recent event.

I think the thing that frustrates me the most personally is that we are a developing team who were up against an in-form team (I consider the Dragons in form) and we needed the luck to be on our side to come close to a victory; something to cheer about and quite obviously the luck wasn't our side. To combine this with the fact that a lot of our losses have been blown by stupidity, it is becoming very frustrating to be a Knights fan!

Our supporters, and other supporters, will always look for someone else to blame but I am sure we all KNOW what and who is really to blame. When frustration takes place this knowledge just so happens to escape us

I am just glad that Sterlo agrees with the long time fans of the game, and understands the game....

The Stanley try didnt cost us the game, but it meant we had to score 1 more try to win. The McManus no try didnt cost us the game, but it meant we had to make another scoring opportunity after a set in defence.... then there is the emotional side of it.

Fact is, those 2 calls meant one team had to score 2 more tries than they should have to win the game.

With all the f**king technology we have these days, is it hard to get the calling right??

Dean, piss off, we are in a Knights forum. If it was your team that was in our situation you would be discussing it over there, and 90% of us would be none the wiser because we dont care.

You want to win the argument??? Let it die rather than flaming it....... f**king school holidays.

LMAO

School holidays is reserved for trolls.... they cant be SMS heroes at school, so they be keyboard heroes on forums instead.

It only lasts 2 weeks, then its normal serve. This guy wants to win the argument, and the child in him wont let it go.

So when the Dragons lost complete interest in the game and dropped their intensity around the 60 minute mark and shut up shop completely when leading comfortably at 24-0...

Well wouldn't a knowledgable league fan say that obvious drop in intensity played just a big a part in the final scoreline being as close as it was than any refereeing?!

It certainly made the Knights " comeback " appear majorly overblown. Sheesh, some people here put it down to the introduction of some bench players that sparked a resurgence!

Um no.

Hows the fact that Jamie Soward ( one of the worst defenders in the NRL ) was all of a sudden solely exposed on the Dragons right hand defence after Chase Stanley left the field?

The Knights had success all night down that side of the field, and didn't exploit it anywhere near enough.

Whether that was the coaching, or on field decisions, I have no idea. Whatever the case, none of that had anything to do with refereeing.

Could have onlt been 18-0 and if the Mcmanus try was given it could have been 18-18.....

Its all could haves mate. That is the point of the article, and the point of my post.... I use that game as an example, but the fact is, the Knights had to score 2 tries to make up for incorrect calls..... then there is the extra tackling, extra sets in attack.

Every bad decision effects every game. Some "cost" a team the win, some "cost" the team a chance at winning, other change the game in ways that you wouldnt even know.

My point is, again, WITH ALL THIS TECHNOLOGY, HOW CAN WE CONSTANTLY HAVE DISCUSSIONS LIKE THIS WEEK AFTER WEEK AFTER WEEK!!!!!

Understand?

Oh man I completely understand.

The level of officiating this year has been atrocious in many games.

In my opinion Cummins, Badger are the worst.

And now they've let Matt Cecchin handle a whistle again!

Wait till the controversy after the Rabbits / Eels game this weekend. We ain't seen nothing yet...
