I dont throw my atheism down at sharks presos.

I dont ask the team to perform rituals.

The thread is titled religion & its affect on the Sharks.

First point is , if anybody has anything to do with the Sharks & are religous, it should be transparent. It should never ever be known.

Secondly, nobody ever promotes their atheism or f**kimadrunkism on the club, so why do the god squad feel the need to?

just stay away from the Sharks, if you feel the need to promote god, jesus or some tart named mary. Thanks.

I've got nothing, well not a lot against religon, but i do want to know how Noah got a pair of every species on his ark.

And if he got two sharks supporters on there, it's a fair bet one of them would have been complaining about the ark design, and it's inherent design flaws. Especially on the port side.

And what is wrong with the Port Side, you always pick on the Port side, what about Starboard, have they got a free pass or something..

Just leave the Port alone.... my dear old dad use to say that alot.

Cheers

This is precisely my beef with it all.
I don't really care what anyone's beliefs are. Why do they feel the need to tell everyone about it.

Seriously, how pumped can you be going into a game when you get in a huddle and have a silent prayer before you run out.
What a crock.

The Romans had the right idea.

Nobody promotes atheism because it is the most dominant belief amongst everyone, it needs no promotion.

If you and many others stopped bagging religion throughout this whole thread then maybe people would stop standing up for it and pushing their beliefs on everyone else then we could forget about this bullsh*t of a theory and get back to talking about our football team.

You're one of the most un Christian people I know. Far too intolerant. Far too angry. Far too self righteous. Far too hypocritical.

Christianity doesnt involve intolerance, anger, self righteousness and hypocrisy?!?!

Since when?!

So you say its a bullsh*t theory do you?
Well I think that is bullshyte.
I and many others are convinced taht catholicism & christianity has had a negative affect on the Sharks.
At the very least, it has taken the top edge off our lead front rower in terms of leadership qualities.
He would be fine to lead a group of celibate god squaders to a book launch but to lead the team from the front foot with his mind, is beyond him.
He was alwyas going to be a clone of Lazzo or Artie when he made grade, then he just went "on" the rails.

He is our best player and you still bag him. You are more fugged up than I thought if you think he has a negative impact on the team. I hope there is a god champ, because I fear someone needs to help you.

i love the smell of intolerance in the morning

i don't see any real point in speculating about the effects of somebody else's beliefs and however they may choose to express them. i challenge anybody to bring forth evidence to support any claim that religious beliefs or practices are being forced on any player unwillingly, or in fact that any players personal religious beliefs have detracted from or contributed to their abilities as a footballer.

until then, it's purely a matter of speculation and conjecture and while that's fine on this forum, i say you'd probably need a bit more solid evidence either way to justify getting too steamed up while running with this one. it's quite obvious that the nay-sayers are equally as touchy about this one as the believers.

for the record i doubt whether religious beliefs have hindered stevo or contributed to making simmo the tragic that he is, any more than i think islam has helped el masri kick a truckoad of goals or made any atheistic players more analytical.
