Renewing your membership????

I'll wait till next year to decide if I become a ticketed member, non ticketed membership will be considered if they drop the price a bit, 75 bucks or whatever is way too expensive for what you get out of it. Issues with the board, coach bla bla bla will not affect my decision.

See I don't get that sort of attitude at all. I mean unless you can't afford it due to money issues, then why do people sit there and quibble about a few dollars? Really, this is our club, the team we all spend hours and hours, if not days, weeks or months even following their fortunes and depending on those fortunes we either are elated or fall down flat on a weekly basis throughout the season. Yet some of us debate whether or not to donate those few dollars to keep our team alive.

Now I know some people have genuine money issues and this is not directed at any of them, but to the people that love this club and CAN afford at least $100 dollars a year on some kind of membership, then there is no excuse and you are just being a tight arse or biting of your nose to spite your face.

Hadley is another negative person about league - everything is bad, the game is no good. So basically encouraging fans not to renew memberships is pretty pathetic. You stick with your club through thick and thin - decisions about the retention of players, board decisions etc shouldn't change your support for a club. The Storm are going through a lot worse than us and their memberships are not declining.

The only drop off in membership will be people maybe not getting seated memberships. But I will definenty be renewing for the 11th year............

Get over yourself. I will still invest money into the club by purchasing tickets to any game I am able to attend, as well as other spending on what not. But I'm not going to pay 75 dollars to get a crappy hat and a bumper sticker. Chances are I probably will become a ticketed member but the price for being a non ticketed member is not worth it and if the club are expecting people to pay so much for a such a membership then they should be making it more worthwhile. I'd rather give the 75 bucks to a charity organisation that helps people than just 'donate' 75 dollars to our club.

After surviving through the relative mediocity that certain periods of being a Parra fan has bought during my time, 2010 certainly won't kill me.
I'll get another round...

seems a lot of people who have replied to this thread must listen to hadley even though they declare their dislike for him.

Otherwise they are assuming what was said on the basis of one post.

If you are unhappy with the way the club is run it is more important to stay a member and express you dissatisfaction as a member and use your voting rights.

 and how long-term were these members who called Hadley?? I'm guessing they are just hopping off the bandwagon and using the board-dramas as a convenient excuse.

Definitely renewing. If you don't like the board and feel THAT strongly about it, remain a member and vote them out!!!

I got more than got my monies worth and enjoyed myself. I live for the ride and not the destination. Anyway, our team saved me thousands, in airfares etc because we won't be in the Grand Final this year so I have a little in the kitty for 2011. I will renew for sure.

Caylo won me $400 against NZ! I'd be an ar$ehole not to renew since that basically paid for 2010 anyway

Fair enough, your choice. I just don't care about what items come with any type of membership. I just consider it a donation to the club I support. Sorry that is the way I see any type of football membership. Football teams just don't make money on their own, to me they are like a charity. Without public support they just wouldn't exist.

Say what you will, that is the truth whether you like it or not. The core business that they are selling to you in return is not the trinkets that you are receiving in the mail from said membership, but a team of footballers on the field. If we want that team to continue and be strong then money is the only currency that will do that.

In saying what I have, I am not really having a go at you, because as you have stated, you still give money to the club in other ways if not through membership.

Just wondering if everyone here will be renewing their memberships.

Yesterday on the radio, a few angry parra supporters vowed they wont be renewing, due to the board, and the recent dramas that have been going on.

They said something along the line that DA didn't want Maitua and Webb, and that it was the board pushing for those 2 signings.

The supporters were also upset about the treatment of DA, and the speculation that he is under pressure.

After 1 of the most disappointing seasons I can recall, I will definitely be renewing my membership.

What are your thoughts????

One thing you have to realise about Ray Hadley and opinionated agenda driven radio jocks, is that all the calls get very well screened before they even get put to Raaaay. An even level constructive argument wont happen, the ones against his grain that get through the cracks will get shut down or talked over by Raaaay. The recent election of anti labor bashing and pro liberal bum smelling is another great example

Also DF is godfather to one of Raaaays kids, so they are quite close. Wonder where Raaay gets his leaks from :sarcasm:

Ill be renewing my membership, you bet ya

This will be my 15th year as a Season Ticket holder, yes I will be back, actually I will be renewing as soon as possible. But I am still of the opinion we will get quite a large dip in membership numbers.

I will be renewing... On field performance and off field dramas may piss me off, but they'll never stop me supporting the Eels.

On second thoughts, (in case the board are reading this..) I will not be renewing my membership unless there are some big changes in action and attitude!!!

:sarcasm:
