stuff off the field has nothing to do with his on-field form. i personally rated him during the dogs run last year. haven't seen much of him this year though because he's been injured.

i don't think he should have been selected because he hasn't played enough this year, but it ain't up to us.

p.s. i though maitua was a kiwi - i was shocked he didn't make the nz team last yr - now i know why :lol:

Maitua is a great palyer off the bench and he was one of the reasons why won the gf last year against the roosters.

Reni Maitua making the City team has to the biggest joke.

Clearly Paul Gallen one of the form Lock forwards in the competition and has played every game for the sharks this year ,doesn't even get a look in with the City team. His stats alone shows what a class player he is.

I hope Maitua makes an absolute @rseclown of himself. Just to show the selectors what a huge mistake they made by picking Maitua in front of Gallen

For your information Reni was cleared of the charges on appeal but I guess most people didn't hear about that because the newspapers didn't stick it on the backpage but rather buried it in a one paragraph article.

Reni was one of our most consistent performers last year and is starting to find his feet again this year. IMO he deserves a crack at the next step for his performances last year alone.

Matuia is alright, but I've never seen him play a great game. Gallen should have been lightyears ahead of him, most other backrowers should be as well.

The selectors obviously have a big crush on Reni Maitua and this is the only way they know how to express their feelings for him.

Maitua was picked on last years form, he's done nothing this year. Gallen deserved to be picked ahead of him, especially after his performance against Melbourne.

Right and thats why Cronulla are top of the table.

Gallen was a stand out for Sharks last year and this year.
