Manu Vatuvei A One of his best seasons yet, a beast in every sense. Don't move him to prop, keep him doing what he's doing best on the wing.

You look at our man during the warm ups and you think 'By golly, this guy's a winger?' He's massive and charismatic. Not in that thick neck, short-limbed prop kind of way, but in a scary, oversized-back way.

When Manu can run end-to-end, you know he's a back.

Just on this note, can we have another successful example of a big back eventually being moved into the forwards, especially prop? There must quite a few examples.

Not sure Sailor did, Eric Grothe Snr, etc.

Ellery Hanley went into the forwards, no? Same with Jarrod McCracken? But they lost their spark?

Tough to argue Meth.

By finishing 9th, it states that we are not quite there.

Awesome summary Meth. You saved me typing energy to rattle off this seasons marks.

For next year I would like to see Tomkins put on more weight/muscle. That ESL frame is NOT going to cut the mustard in this tough competition

9th is what we deserved in the end and if we going to turn it around we need people to be up to it physically not just mentally.

Civoniceva played centre early on. John Morris and Ben Creagh debuted on the wing. Luke Lewis as well.

Nice ratings Meth, pretty much agree with all of them. Was a big year for our backs over our forwards really. It showed when we took on a weaker team that our forwards were able to get on top of - our backs would then have the platform to bring out some great plays. Whenever we took on a top team our forwards would be neutralised, and players like Manu and Laumape had to stand up to make the meters.

With Fish, I really hope he is able to have a full season with us next year. Poor guy needs a break from all these injuries already, and was REALLY starting to gel well with the team before he was injured. Once he is back and Fusitua has more experience, we will be really flush for good winger options.

Colin Dixon.
Played 2nd row in a warm up match and centre in the following test for Britain vs the Kiwis in 1974. Real class.

Gene Miles was a great centre, and a great backrower. Noel Cleal started as a centre too I think, and Wiki.

Not too many ended as a prop from memory, Wiki eventually
