gets rid of loop fixtures which everyone hates. And brings more supporters to SL which tv wants.
Yeah I get that Perth but in reality we would be replacing a third fixture of say Leeds Vs Saints with Leeds Vs teams like Cas, Huddy, Salford, Widnes or Toulouse etc.....often like a bye round really

I'd prefer moving to a season of 6 less games (also them room for more internationals if the NRL buys in!

Clubs need game day revenue, they won’t cut number of fixtures.
hopefully whoever comes up brings something with them.

Oh I agree clubs will not like it..however long term what helps the clubs if the game being healthy even with a short term hit to gates ...TV matters more

A shorter and more intense season / game must be the way forward surely....less games but of higher quality ....

Again less club games makes way for more internationals too

Clubs have to pay bills. current 13 home games is only one more than nrl clubs We have CC as well but they have origin so not far apart in terms of player load.

According to friends in the UK the sooner the incompetent RFL is taken over by the NRL the better, and make certain clubs there do more for junior development and reduce the overseas quota, forcing clubs to do more than just pay lip service to junior development.

Junior development is absolutely shocking with some English clubs.

There’s absolutely zero long term thinking with some clubs who would rather squander hundreds of thousands of pounds every season on average over the hill overseas players than spend it on junior and grassroots RL.

Which clubs?
My club has a scholarship (U16's) Academy (U19's) Reserve grade (mostly U21's)
