Thanks, Paul, very thorough. We do watch a lot of Brit TV shows here, Eastenders, Coronation Street and others all have their following. When I was in university in the 70s Monty Python was very popular, and the series Upstairs/Downstairs and the Duchess of Duke Street were shwon on PBS in the States as well as Canadian TV. Several other tv shows too, I'm just naming a few. But accents and expressions don't rub off as much in Canada, probably because we are to Americanized.
