SYDNEY Roosters are poised to ask the NRL for controversial salary cap concessions to compensate for the high price of eastern suburbs living.

They are kidding right? If the Roosters even think they can propose such a thing, they almost deserve some of the flack they cop.

1. What of the Roosters players who don't live in the Eastern Suburbs?

2. What about all the players who live in the Eastern Suburbs who don't play for Roosters?

3. What about players who have expensive houses in cheaper neighbourhoods?

4. You don't have to live in the same locale as your job!

Perhaps we should get all players to submit housing costs, multiply by the average area house price, divide by the number of weeks for a Fittler spear tackle, minus the number of Roosters juniors AND THEN apply that to the salary cap.

Ridiculous!

I smell a salary cap scandal, could lightning strike twice.

For the sake of the game I hope not. But as a Rooster hater, it would be nice to see the National Roosters League suffer.

You can be guaranteed that Roosters Management wouldn't be stupid enough to attack the salary cap if they were over it.

This latest salvo is just another one of many that the Roosters will lob at the NRL regarding the salary cap.

It's not stupid, it's called strategic planning.

They know it'll never happen but that's not the point.

The point is to keep pressure on the NRL over the salary cap.

Well it's a stupid point. They don't deserve the concession. What have they done to make them deserve it? Nothing. The salary cap is great, apart from one problem, recognising the development of juniors. Why doesn't the NRL look into that for a basis for concessions....why don't the roosters ask for that instead?...oh wait...

Now your starting to get it.

If the NRL gave concessions for juniors then regional teams in particular would prosper.

The Roosters would not.

So the Roosters constantly throw ideas at the NRL re the salary cap that they know will never be approved so that they have a strong case IF the junior concession issue ever reaches NRL board level.
