When is this guy going to fire up?

He's full of excuses and reasons for why we dont win/perform.

He said last night he thought the guys competed hard...

Why didn't someone question him as to why we couldn't beat a Broncos team missing 6 rep players.

I don't care if we had 2 backrowers and Mullen out. Not good enough.

I was a big fan of Stone and thought with the way we started the season that we would gel as a team and go far. But nothing's improved and they've gone backwards.

And yay to bringing in old average players to help us out next season!

It's sad and I know it... but I legitimately get a dose of schadenfreude when I watch our press conferences. Watching Stone sit there lost and clueless with a dejected captain actually makes me a bit happier after a loss. I mean it's infuriating, but also strangely satisfying.

This is the life of a Knights fans, enjoying watching your coach and captain suffer through their own ineptitude.

You forgot Smith and Tapine, plus we lost Gidley after he was having his best game in ages.

Still should have won though.

Stone is not up to NRL standard and we are going backwards as a club as a whole.

Time to move him on and get serious with getting the best for club in all respects.

This Newcastle centric mentality will result in years of mediocre and wooden spoons.

Surely Stone must see that his career is slipping away, or has he already done a deal with Midley about an extension.

I just don't ever see the guy firing up.

He is a plodder thats won the lottery three times.

1st when he got to replace Smith.
2nd we he got to be assistant to Bennett on the same money.
3rd getting the gig again when it should have been a competitive process.

Gidley was super pissed, he mentions training a lot. So you have to wonder what does go on at training? Was Leilua not the only one not putting in?

More of the same from stone I thought. Blamed injuries, said we performed well aside from mental lapses in the second half

Haven't seen the press conference yet but Bennett was saying last year how well they executed in training but then didn't translate it to the field. It's an attitude thing or a confidence drop or ...
Am thinking the game performance needs to be the benchmark and not training.

I really feel for Kurt because the guy was hurting, but because they were only getting bog standard cliches from Stone all the questions were directed his way. At least he was honest in how he felt - the boys need to see some of that from Stone...

Gids was very honest in the interview but Stone was more of the same. He needs to tell it how it is to the media.

He doesn't appear to set standards and drop players who don't meet those standards irrespective of who they are.

Bennett has dropped Thaiday, Henry has dropped Taylor, Maquire has dropped Luke. It is these standards Stone needs to set publicly and instill in the team that unless you meet these standards, you will be dropped no matter who you are.

Stone mentioned in the interview that we are mentally weak in defence. Well Stone grow some b@lls and make a statement instead of being the players best friend which is firming the knights for the wooden spoon.

The players are just too comfortable knowing Stone is a marshmellow instead of being a hard task master.

What struck me was the complaint that we conceded off the back of penalties but he didn't actually make a point to say that we shouldn't be giving away stupid penalties, some of which were late in the tackle count.

About 6 minutes in and I couldn't listen anymore the guy has lost me.

From what I've heard the players don't respond to Stone, he doesn't challenge them, they do as they please, they cancel training sessions when they feel too tired, stone hasn't got the balls to rein them in

If that's true I wouldnt pay them any money for that day.
