As one of Sheens no1 detractors Iam getting some enjoyment out of all this. For the first time since he was ridden out of town in Townsville people are starting to mount pressure on the great man and the cracks are starting to show. Beating the 2010 wooden spooners minus their two best players will only keep the vultures away for a week or two.

As for Ricky, not my first choice, but at least he may be able to attract a frontrower to the club and instill some fire in the forwards

The sad thing is I genuinely do like Sheens, think he has been good for WT and has helped build a great foundation for the club and I will ever fondly remember the 2005 premiership (hell, I wasnt even born when Wests as a standalone won their last one) but having said that I do think he has stayed too long, become too comfortable, believes in his own invincibility and righteousness vs anyone elses opinion, encourages cronies and plays favourites (and mind games) with team selection to the detriment of form.

Another forum has Sheens being approached by Canberra for 2011 as coaching director. Could be a good fit if true but I suppose there will be hundreds of rumours until things settle again..

You Know might just have some legs,, their was a whisper that the green machine were interested in Fitzfumble!!! Maybe thats why and if it was the case I hope Bronson has a get out clause in his contract. The poor bloke will be heading back to the frontrow if the master coach gets a gig down their.

Repeat this often over the next few days . . .

Dear Lord,
Please , in your infinite wisdom, do not let the WT board appoint tricky Ricky. We already have a shmuck. We don't need him replaced with a shlepp.
Amen.

I agree. Sheens would be a good fit down there- as coaching director / mentor / blah blah he would not be the first grade coach but an overall mentor /co-ordinator and I reckon he would do well at that. Also no doubt Canberra has fond memories for him.

Interesting times right now. Once one coach jumps ship you see a cascade of events / reactions throughout several clubs with underperforming coaches.

PS No doubt poor old Bronson H will have the sweats if they do sign Teflon. Hope he has a get out clause.

PPS Along a similar vane- wonder what WT players would want to folow Sheens if he does go?

I would have Ricky Stuart in a heartbeat.

Remember he got them to an equal minor premiership only to be beaten by an illegal Melbourne Storm team.

Then disaster:

1. Greg Bird
2. Reni Maitua
3. Brett Seymour
4. NZ Sex scandal
5. Tony Zappia
6. Less money than a tranny hooker in vatican city.

The failings of the club are not Sticky's fault, he has lost quality players through no fault of his own, including two quality backrower/utility players and a reasonable halfback.

I think people are being too harsh on Sticky without really examining the facts.

Mate I hear what you're saying, but Sticky would be a horrible coach for us due to the way his teams play - we simply don't have the cattle for it. So unless his style changed, or there were wholesale player changes, it would not end well.

Not to mention letting Kimmorley go and replacing him with Johnny "C" Morris. Or sending De Gois on his merry way...

If Sticky comes to Tiger town, who does he bring with him from Summer Bay?

1. Luke Douglas
2. Tim Smith
3. Anthony Tupou

I would be happy with those 3 for starters.

I thought the rumour doing the rounds last year were as follows;

sheens to souths -lang to go back to his previous position as head whatever

Stuart to tiges

brown to sharks (not happening at the moment after flanagan was signed for 2011)

anyway thats something that was thrown around last year....

Sticky got the Roosters to 3 Grand Finals in a row and then a talentless Cronulla team to an equal minor premiership.

He goes well when fresh. like a first up specialist racehorse.

I would like him to come across.

Talentless???????

Bird
Anderson
Gallen
Kimmorley
Seymour
Ross
Kearney
Douglas
Covell
Talentless......I don't f**kn think so

Could go anywhere- lets face it, there are at least 4 NRL coaches that should start feeling nervous this time of year. Approaching halfway mark of season with underperforming teams and low placement on the ladder.

I have a feeling (unless Teflon actual walks- and says he is walking very soon), he will survive this potential bullet. Stuart will be looking to cement a job soon and I'm not sure the slowly building pressure at WT boardroom level is anywhere near causing the eruption needs to force Humphrey's hand in sacking Teflon. I think that pressure will erupt in about 4 to 6 weeks in the latter half of season.

Right now, the Tigers are in the top 8. That alone will ensure Sheens is safe for now. Given the cost involved in buying out Sheens (and presumably Simmons), I highly doubt the Tigers would act before year end. Should we miss the finals this year, Sheens is on record as saying he'll walk (I think), so I would hope he is true to his word (but I doubt it).

Agree. I reckon he will walk- the rumour of Canberra coaching co-ordinator would be very tempting for 2011 onwards.

Imagine, not having to consider us harping, 'no nothing fans' who should only have worshipped at his feet and hung adoringly on to his every word rather than question his actions, words and results. Canberra presents fresh fields of endeavour.
