RLW Omit WC Qualifiers Article

This month's issue of RLW has only a fleeting reference to the WC qualifiers. There isn't an article on any of the games, no match reports or write ups. I would have thought that this would have been a perfect opportunity to get some info from the teams who at least played in the UK. A full and revealing interview with one of the teams' management wouldn't have gone amiss. My patience with this publication grows thinner by the month.

It's quite possible the Mike Gregory pages came at the expense of planned WC match reports etc, which might be bumped back a month to the January edition?

hmmm, I am planning on buying it tomorrow. I must say it's more out of loyalty to the game, than the amazing content. For mine, it's gone downhill since i was here in 2002, and certainly isn't living up to it's name.

I used to buy it every week from about 92 through to 01. like Ali says it's gone down hill since then

I've got every issue of the Aussie edition. But then again there was only six or seven of them and LPL pulled out and left all its creditors out of money. Just buy RLR. It's got more/better content and it's a fair dinkum league mag not just a money spinner for a dodgy company.

My prob though ECT is that I have every issue and I'm reluctant to break the run so I still keep buying it out of loyalty and not much more.

I have no problems with the Mike Gregory tribute but we also got 2 or 3 pages on how Steve Mascord went on a world tour watching RL and heavy metal bands. Don't get me wrong I usually have a lot of time for Mascord but this was just self indulgence. His only reference to the WC qualifiers was a throwaway line about being on Widnes railway station. Yet they still found space for a picture of the Samoans. They could easily have dropped the twaddle that is the 50 best teenagers in RL story. How long will it be before they get the chance to interview these people in Britain again?

The 8 or so issues that came out in the Australian edition were fantastic. Very disappointing that the Australian edition ended. I still occasionally buy the English edition but it seems to have gone backwards a long way.

the new look is great, a clean break with the past, loads of world articles...........................no wait, its just the same.... with a token page devoted to the world game, no team previews in world cup year, no developing nations features, no mention of london skolars signing 2 irish born internationals, no mention of Edinbourough eagles or vereya entering the challenge cup
