How Poore or Simpson got picked before Heighington is a joke, the guy is in the top leaders of the entire league in hit ups, tackles, meters made.... how does that not show better form then those 2 blokes ?

Disappointing, but congrats to Robbie... he was a shoe in.

Don't know about that. 2007 SoO he was a shoe in, but no the NSW selectors (see footer) overlooked him.

Don't get me wrong Buderus was fine with me, but Robbie missing a bench spot was criminal.

Glad he was picked.

Chris Heighington should of left us to go to Melbourne. All you have to do is make there starting side and you're a shoe in for any rep side, even if you can't scare a 90 year old with your runs (Hoffman), your runs are completely useless (White) or you've never run the ball in your life (Johnson)

Heighington will probably front for a U.K. team. Galloway will front for Scotland. Not sure if this leads to any backlash towards Origin selections down the track.

I can't believe O'Donnell got picked more than anyone.

Between suspensions and Injuries, he's done f**k all for 2 years now.

Yet he gets picked in a squad ahead of, well f**k, any other back rower in the game with at least 10 matches to their name in first grade.

Nope, won't affect origin chances.

Mason, Lam, Carroll, Fletcher, Ricketson et al have all played for other nations and still played Origin. Those named also went on to play Test Footy for Australia after the world cup.

How does the squad work? Does it get cut back to 25 players which will be used throughout the duration of the cup?

not really, they usually have two full sides and a few benchies that play in the cup, to ensure there is no burnt out players I guess.

They should only pick guys from Cronulla I suppose.

O'Donnell is about the only fearsome player in that squad. Our pack looks pissweak compared with the lesser Pacific nations, let alone the other top two.

O'Donnell is useless, there is at least 10 better backrowers eligible for NSW. If O'Donnell is up there with the best, we are screwed.

Unfortunately there will be no real competition particularly without Money Bill Willaims out of what could have been a full NZ side with Benji even looking like playing. So once again the selectors can pick trash and we still win and make them look like ledgends.

They can still cause some damage, in 2005 they pulled the Aussies pants down big time when the Aussies picked a lot of hacks like this time.
