It looks like Allianz Stadium members will be able to use their memberships at both the England v Lebanon and Australia v Lebanon games which will help crowd numbers for those respective games.

Also Corporate Hospitality for the Opener looks close to full based upon the updates I'm seeing on LinkedIn.

So a couple of positive updates.

Could somebody ask Brad Walter via Twitter when RLWC is going to start ramping up the marketing for the World Cup? Do they realise it starts in four weeks ??!!

Nobody is going to give a f**k about WC advertising with the GF's this week. It would be nice if they could get some advertisements either before, during or somehow involving the NRL GF.

Then after this weekend they need to ramp up the advertising. It's the off season and people are looking for sport, we need to let people know this is happening.

I wouldn’t expect much during the GF with 7 holding the rights to it.

4 weeks is a long time. Squads announced from Tuesday, starting with aus and france, followed my png, nz, tonga, samoa, england and then fiji.

We will gain traction. Expect a great opening match that then gets everyone talking.

I have a gut feel that it will be a success. Provides the fans are talking about it and press give it the coverage it deserves it will be good for the game and the NRL. Let's hope so.

Relying on England for anything when it comes to international league is always a dangerous game. A belter of a game between Aus vs Eng would really set up the World Cup. If England don't show up and have a score put on them it'll start the negativity hate train rolling.

PNG v Wales looks close to a sell out, hopefully some good performances by the Kumuls and they get through to the Quarters.

Update on each of the PNG Games. Some reasonable movement on all three games, will imagine that ticket sales will get a spike today based upon the Kumuls team announcement.

PNG v Wales:

Eastern Stand: 747 (Was 920)
South Stand: Sold Out (Was 128)
North Stand: Sold Out (Was 25)
West Wings: 2,339 (Was 2,445)
Grandstand: Sold Out (Was 1)
Total: 3,086 (Was 3,519)

PNG v Ireland:
Eastern Stand: 2,749 (Was 2,806)
South Stand: 228 (Was 246)
North Stand: 166 (Was 246)
West Wings: 2,612 (Was 2,641)
Grandstand: 222 (Was 265)
Total: 5,977 (Was 6,204)

PNG v USA:
Eastern Stand: 2,777 (Was 2,856)
South Stand: 423 (Was 439)
North Stand: 258 (Was 305)
West Wings: 2,403 (Was 2,436)
Grandstand: 223 (Was 266)
Total: 6,084 (Was 6,302)

With regards to other games, encouragingly this week extra Bays have been put on sale for France v Lebanon and Australia v France in Canberra.

For Tonga v Samoa in Hamilton, the lower bays in the Brian Perry Stand are now just single tickets, whilst extra Bays have been opened up on the WEL Network Stand, plus the behind the post grandstand only has limited tickets left.

Extra Seats have gone on sale for England v Lebanon at the SFS, with the Cat 1 seats in the Non-TV arc side really beginning to fill up. Other side not looking so great...

The centre bays on the City Care Stadium at Christchurch for New Zealand v Scotland are filling up nicely, whilst there are limited seats for the Smith City Haier Stand behind the posts (why is behind the posts so popular for NZ games? Is it pricing?)

On behind the posts, I see the second tier of the South Stand for Mt Smart is now on sale as well, with the lower tier almost at capacity.

I'd go further and say that England must win. It pretty much puts them in the final and ensures that the Kangaroos have a tough semi against (most likely) the Kiwis for the other spot. It really throws the element of uncertainty into the tournament which we really want.
