Very promising updates. Keep the great information on ticket sales up. Its a great insight into whats expected. Overall despite some questionable tv coverage or lack thereof, momentum is building well.
Still think the game missed out on a full house for the SFS for a KANGAROOS v England game ! Thats my only lament. Perhaps the other two games may be attractive enough to get a decent crowd at the SFS. Here's hoping.

North Stand is now on sale for Mt Smart as well. Of the second tier of the South Stand, it's down to single seats now, which equates to around 3,000 sold seats just on its own.

Encouraging signs, shows a real ramp in sales over the past week in Auckland.

Also on Australia v Lebanon at the SFS, got my tickets yesterday (ordered almost 3 weeks ago), PAX was 4,600. Throw in SFS members, etc, sitting around 10K allocated for that game this far out.

We're not really expecting much of the SFS members to turn up are we?

I'd go further and say that England must win. It pretty much puts them in the final and ensures that the Kangaroos have a tough semi against (most likely) the Kiwis for the other spot. It really throws the element of uncertainty into the tournament which we really want.

I've thought about that scenario. Coming first in pool A (Australia or England) would line you up to play Samoa or Tonga likely in the QF. Considering those squads, especially Tonga, its not necessarily easier.

Especially seeing as 2nd place in pool A will likely play PNG. Australia wouldn't be concerned about PNG.

I'm optimistic about the crowds for the tournament, Tamalolo and Fafita have made headlines turning their backs on Oz and nz and promotion is ramping up!

Good point. I was more refering to the semi-final though. The winner of the pool avoids the Kiwis in the semi. Although looking at the NZ squad that was announced they may end up being the prefered semi final matchup.

Either way it is good to see Tonga, Samoa and Scotland (in their recent 4 nations performances) throwing a bit of competitiveness into not only the quarter final stage but the group stages as well. Our world cup is really starting to get some competitive nations which will only help with credibility in the media and help attract casual sports fans.

NZ in NZ or the other 2 choices on neutral soil , I think you'd choose the latter
the semi in NZ ( most likely V England ) will again be the clash of the tournament
its a shame they're not playing it at Eden Park , it'll be a great encounter & deserves more then 25 to 30K fans in attendance.

I give England a real chance to win that & make the final for the first time in 22 years upping the interest in the final 10 fold....

Reeeeeally counting on the Lebanese community to come out in force for their pool games. The France game will probably be one of the lowest drawing.

So having a look at the Ticket sales. For the opener, the lower section of the Eastern Stand is pretty much sold out, with just a handful of tickets left in the corner bay (Bay 1). Behind the posts, each Bay is between 60-70% sold now, whilst the Western Stand (Lower) and Eastern Stand (Upper) around 70% sold as well overall, meaning on TV the ground will look reasonably full. It does raise the question now though, when will the Western Stand (Upper) be put on sale?

For New Zealand v Samoa, this game really has picked up in the recent 10 days... The Colin Kay Stand (Lower) only has 5 seats left on sale, with us knowing Bays 12 - 15 have been sold. In the Upper section of Colin Kay, there are now only 21 seats left, plus we know Bays 3 - 6 are sold out.

On the Eastern Stand, Bay 28 is still very sparse, whilst 29 is now around 80% full. 30 is Sold out, 31 is around 98% full whilst 32 is still very sparse. Higher up, the middle bays are near capacity, with 37 and 41 starting to finally fill, whilst the Lower Southern end we know is almost at capacity.

Naturally, still too many gaps to look good on TV at this stage, but this game is definitely looking a lot healthier.

I find it hard to believe they won’t. They should be hitting Bankstown and SW Sydney with heaps of advertising making sure people actually know it’s happening.

France v Lebanon should have been held in Sydney, not Canberra. Belmore, Penrith or sfs. Can't see it getting a crowd in Canberra. I hope I'm wrong!

There is a bus of french expats from Sydney heading down with a party before the game. $50 return game ticket included if anyone is interested.

For the NZ v Samoa match, using Yakstorm's analysis of what Bays we are 100% have been placed on sale at some point and are not unavailable, I get around the following number of tickets sold:

1673 Lower
1516 Upper
919 Lower
1352 Upper
1400 South Stand
??? North Hill

Total = 6,860

This game should really aim to sell around 20,000 - 25,000?

This game should really aim to sell around 20,000 - 25,000?

The two times the Kiwis have played against Samoa in NZ only drew 11,500 (MT Smart 2010) and 16,500 (Northland 2014).

They should get the 8,000-12,000 die hard Kiwi/Warrior fans then it all depends on how many Samoan supporters turn up.

If it gets 20,000 - i would call that a huge success.
