Crowd looks fine. At least as a positive, that's sell-out number 5 for the tournament... Possibly the last one, although we maybe lucky with the Final.

In the end Darwin wasn't that awful of a choice. Decent crowd and it's great for th local community. Made a decent profit for the World Cup as well.

If all 4 quarter finals got that much I'd be ecstatic.

I would have thought being a World Cup quart final involving Australia it would have been #1. But still a good crowd.

The top 2 are indigenous all stars v an afl team. Like 17500 in the 90s. The only one slightly more was 14k in 06 between 2 afl teams.

I wonder if the NT government got a good return on their investment?

I agree with your comments about fans sitting on the grass. Anyone watching the game from around the world might think we are some backward country.

Pfft hahaha some of you people crack me up.

Oooh I saw some people eating hot chips in a bucket. We don't want the world to think we're a low class sport who eats low class food! That's not the best look for our World Cup!

It looked good on TV IMO. If anything the 1000s of empty seats we're going to see today and tomorrow are a worse look than people having a fantastic time watching RL on a hill.

Was at the Darwin game. TIO stadium is a terrible ground for league. Due to the slope of the outfield it is hard small kids on the hill to see the action.

Also a long way from the action so it feels a bit disconnected.

The sooner we get our purpose built league ground the better.

Having said that was a great night out with plenty of positive coverage, which is good considering the stranglehold afl has up here

Wellington is clearly overpriced for Cat A, there is still heaps of Cat A seats available but over the last day they have been continually opening new bays in Cat C. We are probably going to see lots of people sitting behind the in goal area with empty seats along the side. People need to learn that something is only worth what people are prepared to pay, not what they think they can get.

Just got back from wellys and the weather is overcast with a the odd drizzle.

Saw a few cars heading to wellys with Fiji flags on the cars. My friend got tickets on the second of Nov and they pax was just under 5,000.

Apparently Brad Fittler did some digging and and found out there are 28 Lebanese people living in Christchurch lol
